Wishlist Allowing index as pagename

It would be great to be allowed to use index as a pagename. I dont want to have 2 seperate files with the same content (home.html and index.html) if i could just have a index.html alone

Is there a way I can make the header the same with the website and when I click the blog page? It's not showing the same header layout when I click the blog link. Is there a way to fix it? Big thanks!
