It would be great to be allowed to use index as a pagename.
I dont want to have 2 seperate files with the same content (home.html and index.html) if i could just have a index.html alone

But that conflict only got added manually "recently"
back in nicepage v4.x i used to call one of my pages index (as visible in the screenshots i attached), and no issues came from it, the file was called index.html, no additional file was created and everything was fine, but this was manually changed at some point
As such, this is a manually engineered problem that doesnt solve anything, as such cant even be called a solution to anything considering the software worked perfectly well even before you were being prevented from changing the name of a page to index.
The reason why i want to be able to change the name to index is because i want the url bar to be squeeky clean and not go to a website with no filename specified, then go to the homepage, and suddenly have a filename specified, it just looks ugly to me, and i like to save as much space as i can.
Optionally you could also allow someone to link to the index file directly, so index instead of the homepage file or maybe choose between both

Thanks for your suggestions, but as we discussed in the mentioned topic, it will cause conflict.
Nicepage automatically generates an index.html file as a copy of the page specified as the home page under the Site Settings. Therefore, you cannot create a page with the same name. This will cause a conflict.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

thats fair, but as visible from the thread you posted, it seems the team doesnt recognise that its pointless to force the program to generate 2 identical files that only differ in name, as such, i m suggesting bringing back the ability to simply name the page index right inside the editor
