Joomla Plugin doesn't work with URL-Rewrite

If I build an article in Joomla with the plugin, it doesn't work on the frontpage if I turn sef-url and url-rewrite on. It gives only a 500 error. Without url-rewrite ist works. Can anybody confirm...

The title says it all. After setting up a page, for example "Mike" with photos links back to HOME, etc, How to duplicate it to replace to rename and replace content to have a seperate article.
