Sending an email from the website is quite a complex task. In general, if you are not using an HTML form, you need a PHP action file which will describe what to do with the data added to the form fields and define a mail server which will send your email.

This article describes how to configure sending emails from the Nicepage Form.

Once we added a Form into a section we can add/remove desired fields such as "Address" and "Phone" from the form:

On the next step, we can choose a recipient:

  • Contact7 Form (WordPress). When this option is selected, Nicepage form uses WordPress plugin "Contact7 Form" to send emails.

  • Joomla Form (Joomla). When this option is selected, Nicepage Form uses built-in Joomla functionality.
  • URL. When this option is selected we can use a custom form action file.
  • MailChimp. With this option, we can populate MailChimp list with data captured by a Nicepage form.

WordPress. Send Emails using "Contact Form 7" Plugin.

Once we added a Nicepage form control on a page and selected "Contact Form 7" as Send To recipient Nicepage creates a new form under the CF7 forms.

This form works just like any other form created by the "Contact Form 7" Plugin.

Joomla. Send Emails using Joomla built-in function.

Once we added Nicepage forms control on a page and selected "Joomla Form" as Send To we can send emails using Joomla built-in send mail functionality.
If your server is configured to send emails or you have Mail Server installed you need to configure Mail Settings in Joomla Global Configuration >> Server. As an alternative, If you have a Gmail account, you can use the Google service as your mail server.

HTML. Send Emails using custom Form Action file.

Unfortunately, Nicepage Form control does not provide built-in send email functionality.
Once you added the Form control and selected "URL" as Send to the recipient you need to specify a path for the form action attribute. The action attribute specifies where to send the data when a form is submitted.

The form action script is a .php file which can be created manually or downloaded from the Internet. Please note that if you download any examples of the form action scripts from the Internet you will need to adjust this file manually so it can work with the Nicepage form fields.
