Overview

This tutorial teaches you how to create a Menu with the Nicepage Plugin for WordPress. For more information, please watch the video about the installation of the WordPress Plugin.

The Menu is the main Navigation Element of any website. Usually, the Header has a Menu, which is reachable from all site pages. The Menu can contain links to Pages, Blocks on a Page, URLs, and Files.

Display Menu In WordPress

After installing and creating a New Page, Nicepage shows the Primary Navigation set for your website.

  1. Create a new Nicepage Page.
  2. Go to Nicepage -> New Page.
  3. Select the Menu.
  4. Open the Menu Editor
  5. To edit the Menu, click the button in the Context Toolbar or Property Panel or double-click the Menu.
  6. You see the Menu Items added to the Primary Navigation in WordPress.

Import Content With Menu

You can also import the Menu from the zip with Content exported from the Nicepage Application. While doing the Export, select the Pages and Editor Plugin option in the Export Dialog.

Then, in the WordPress Administration, install the Plugin and click the Import Content button.

Edit Menu With Plugin

You can edit your Site Menu using the Nicepage WordPress Editor Plugin.

All Menu changes in the Editor are saved to the Primary Navigation Menu. If you have other pages that use the Menu, it will change for them, for example, for the Theme Pages like Blog and Search Results.

  1. Switch to the browser tab with the Editor.
  2. Select the Menu in the Header.
  3. Open the Menu Editor.
  4. Add a New Menu Item.
  5. Select the Page in the dialog.
  6. Move your New Item up.
  7. Click Done.
  8. Publish the Page.
  9. Preview the Page by clicking WordPress -> Visit Site. You see, the Menu has changed.
  10. Open the Blog Page.
  11. The Menu has also changed.

By moving items in the Menu Editor, you modify the order of the menu items. However, by editing the Labels of the Menu Items with the WordPress Plugin, you do not change the actual name of your Pages.
