In WordPress, you can place widgets in three different ways.

  1. Widget Area in Header and Footer with App
  2. Sidebar and Primary Widget Area in Blog and Post with App
  3. Widget Area in Content with Plugin

In this article, you will learn how to add a Widget Area into the WordPress Header and Footer with the Nicepage Application for Windows or Mac OS.

Using the Nicepage Application for Windows or Mac OS, you can add Widget Areas to the WordPress Header and Footer.

Creating a Widget Area

  1. Run the Nicepage Application for Windows or Mac OS.
  2. Open your working project
  3. Select the Header.
  4. Click the Add icon.
  5. Select Position and Shortcode -> Position and Widget Area.
  6. Resize the Widget Area.
  7. Align the Widget Area.
  8. You may change the default text for convenience.
  9. And stylize the Widget Area.
  10. Change the Font Size and Weight.
  11. A Widget Area has to have a unique name.
  12. Select the Widget Area in the Header.
  13. Enter "nicepage1" in the Widget Area Name field in the Property Panel.
  14. Click the Save icon.
  15. Export the Theme.

You can add Widget Areas to the WordPress Footer similarly.

Installing a Theme with Widget Area

  1. Open the WordPress Administration in your browser.
  2. Select Appearance -> Themes.
  3. Add a New Theme.
  4. Upload Theme.
  5. Drag or browse for the zip with your Theme.
  6. Click the Install button.
  7. Activate the Theme.
  8. Intall the Nicepage Plugin.
  9. You can skip the importing of the Content.

Adding Widgets

  1. Click Appearance -> Widgets.
  2. You should see the new Widget Area with the Name "nicepage1".
  3. You will see the Footer's Widget Areas here as well.
  4. Add the Text Widget.
  5. Enter the sample text.
  6. Select the Position for your Widget.
  7. Click the Save Widget button.

Previewing the Page

  1. Click WordPress -> Visit Site.
  2. You should see the sample text added to the Widget Area.
