Ask a Question

Support:
Am just starting with Nicepage. Have built templates for years using Artisteer but now have to update to Joomla 4 and Artisteer is pretty much gone.
I want to build the template from scratch if possible. I add the account to my CPanel. Then move the Joomla site to the hosting company via Filezilla and then move in the template once Joomla is installed.
Question will this process still work for me?
Am having trouble finding in Nicepage where I can build from scratch--please advise if that is possible.
I really need help as I have 30 plus custom templates to rebuild.
Look forward to your response. Thanks.

Hello Kathleen,

You can create the Nicepage Theme and Nicepage Content in the Desktop app.
The Nicepage Theme includes a header, footer, Blog and Post templates, and other Theme settings. Please customize all Theme elements under the Site Colors and Fonts and Templates tabs in the Desktop app.
The Nicepage Content is a static HTML Pages created in the Desktop app.

After that, you can export the Theme with/without Content and install it on your Joomla site:
* https://nicepage.com/doc/70107/install-joomla-template-and-articles - import theme+pages
* https://nicepage.com/doc/72666/update-joomla-template-from-app - import theme only
* https://nicepage.com/doc/73583/export-and-update-joomla-content-from-app - impost content only

In Joomla, you can continue Content editing with the Nicepage plugin Editor. So Nicepage Theme can be created in the Desktop app only.
You can also create native Joomla articles.
After installing the Nicepage Theme, your Joomla articles(like posts) will use the Post template configured on the Desktop https://nicepage.com/doc/119180/post-template.
Also, follow these instructions https://nicepage.com/doc/119177/blog-template instructions to customize the Blog template.

Blog template is used to output the list of your posts(native Joomla articles), you can choose the layout, post count, image, and text settings.
Post template is used to output your native Joomla article with Nicepage Theme applied, you can see it after you click Read more button.

If you have any more questions or if there's anything else we can help you with, feel free to ask.

Anna.
