Sometimes Nicepage issues are not caused by the editor itself, but by third-party software running on your device or inside your browser.
Antivirus programs, firewalls, browser extensions, privacy tools, and script blockers can interfere with how Nicepage works by blocking access to files, network requests, embedded scripts, or browser storage. This can affect both Nicepage Desktop and Online Builder in
different ways.

Some of the most common areas affected include:
- Application launch
- Project saving
- Exporting websites
- Loading images and assets
- Form submission
- ReCAPTCHA validation
- License activation
- Quick preview
- Online editor loading
This guide explains how antivirus software and browser extensions can affect Nicepage and how to resolve the most common issues they may cause.

Problem 1: Nicepage Desktop Gets Stuck on Loading
One of the most common issues happens when Nicepage Desktop freezes on the loading screen or shows an endless loading animation. This frequently happens when antivirus software or firewall defense blocks Nicepage from accessing local project folders or making required startup requests. Some antivirus tools may also stop automatic backup creation during launch.
Solution
First, temporarily turn off your antivirus or firewall, then try restarting Nicepage.
If the issue is still there:
* make sure Nicepage has access to your Documents/Nicepage folder
* check whether backup creation is being blocked
* click the Nicepage logo in the top-left corner during loading to bypass reopening the last project
* test launching the app with administrator permissions
If needed, create debug logs for support. Learn more about How To Provide Error Logs.
Problem 2: Projects Cannot Save or Export Properly
Sometimes users run into errors like:
* unable to save
* operation not permitted
* export failed
* failed to send request
These problems usually occur when antivirus protection blocks file writing or network communication during export. Some antivirus tools include ransomware protection that prevents apps from changing files in the Documents folder.
Solution
Check your antivirus protection settings and add Nicepage to the safe list or exclusions.
Make sure to look closely at:
* protected folders
* ransomware shield
* controlled folder access
* firewall outbound rules
This is especially important for project backups, HTML, WordPress, and Joomla export.
Problem 3: Images or Media Library Resources Do Not Load
Sometimes images in the editor appear broken or fail to load. This can happen when antivirus software blocks Nicepage content delivery URLs or image libraries. Some security tools may flag external media resources as unsafe, even though they are required for editor functionality.
Solution
If media assets do not load:
* temporarily turn off web protection
* allowlist Nicepage domains
* test loading assets via another network
* check if your DNS or firewall filters external image requests
Problem 4: License Activation Fails
Users may occasionally encounter license validation issues even when their subscription or license is active. This usually happens when corporate firewalls, VPNs, or security gateways block Nicepage authorization servers.
Solution
Check whether your firewall allows outgoing connections to Nicepage servers.
Also verify:
* that no VPN is interfering
* your proxy settings are configured correctly
* no corporate security tools are blocking authentication requests
If activation still fails, try logging in from another network.
Problem 5: Forms Stop Working Because of Browser Extensions
Browser extensions are among the most common causes of form submission issues in Nicepage.
This is especially common with ad blockers, privacy blockers, password managers, and script blockers.
These tools may interfere with form scripts, submit buttons, or background requests.
Solution
If forms stop working:
* test in Incognito mode
* turn off extensions temporarily
* especially test without ad blockers and password managers
This is one of the fastest ways to isolate extension conflicts.
Problem 6: reCAPTCHA Fails, and Forms Cannot Be Submitted
Nicepage forms that use Email or Google Sheets submission depend on Google reCAPTCHA. Privacy-focused browser extensions often block reCAPTCHA scripts, resulting in errors such as “Unable to send your message”. This has become more common since reCAPTCHA became required for Nicepage server-side form processing.
Solution
Disable privacy blockers, content blockers, script blockers, or add exceptions for google.com, gstatic.com, and recaptcha services.

Problem 7: Online Builder Keeps Loading or Does Not Open Projects
Sometimes Nicepage Online Builder gets stuck loading indefinitely. More often, browser extensions are blocking cookies, local storage, or script execution. This is a known issue with privacy extensions, VPN extensions, cookie blockers, and tracking protection tools.
Solution
To troubleshoot:
* open Nicepage in Incognito mode
* clear browser cache
* disable each of your extensions one by one
* allow cookies for Nicepage
* test in another browser
If the project loads normally in Incognito, an extension is almost always causing the issue.
Problem 8: Embedded Maps, Videos, or Menus Behave Incorrectly
Some browser extensions or cookie management plugins can block embedded external content such as Google Maps, YouTube videos, or mobile hamburger menus. This may cause missing content, broken layouts, or invisible menu buttons.
Solution
Check whether cookie managers block third-party embeds, browser extensions inject custom scripts, or accessibility plugins modify page structure. Testing without extensions often reveals the conflict quickly.
Best Practices for Avoiding Antivirus and Extension Conflicts
Nicepage runs perfectly as long as its file system access, network requests, and browser scripts are not interfered with.
To reduce issues:
* Make sure to add Nicepage Desktop to antivirus exclusions.
* Allow Nicepage through your firewall.
* Avoid aggressive browser privacy extensions while editing.
* Try using Incognito mode for troubleshooting.
* Keep your browser updated.
* Keep Nicepage updated to the latest version.
* Regularly clear your browser cache after publishing changes.
* Make sure to test your reCAPTCHA and forms after enabling any new extensions.
In many cases, what appears to be a Nicepage bug is actually caused by external software interrupting normal editor behavior.
Checking antivirus settings and browser extensions early can save a lot of time when troubleshooting unexpected issues.
