Ask a Question

Hello team,
can you please give me a hint, what went wrong, when I make a link from part of the text, it converts to button. Is it possible somehow, to use standard text link instead? It converts even the part of the text to button. That makes an disorder from such link. Currently I have not found, how to make a standard link, as it was some time ago.

Thanks for your answer,
Michal

Hi Michal,

We have added the feature to edit the Link Color and Style in the Text Element by changing it to a button with Nicepage 2.20 version https://nicepage.com/doc/nicepage-2-20-july-15-2020-seo-image-lazy-loading-webp-images-84896

We are sorry that you have encountered such difficulties with link editing, but could you please explain in more details what exactly is causing difficulties. A few marked screenshots will be helpful for better understanding.

Hello Susanna,
have a look to the screenshot. I entered the text element (1).
Then I selected part of the text "text box" that was within the Sample text and clicked the icon of chain to link it (2).
Once finished, the text got splitted off, so there is one left part, then there is a button, that got converted after hyperlink was inserted, and then there is the rest of the text element. I like the buttons, but I would like to be able to use text links, how it was some versions ago...

Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Michal

Michal,

Once finished, the text got splitted off, so there is one left part,
then there is a button, that got converted after hyperlink was
inserted, and then there is the rest of the text element.

Yes, this behavior is correct now (please see my screenshot above). And with this new feature of the link/button inside text control, you can style specific links as you need (before this update, you could add settings for the link only under the Theme settings, and these settings applied to all links on the site).

So please style the link/button inside the text control:

Link-button-settings.png

and add settings for this text control as well:
Text-control-settings.png

Do you have any problems with this?

Hello Susanna,
if I understand that properly, this "new feature" will lead to the situation, when it will not be possible, to update the link behaviour at whole site, because newly built buttons, will have configured its own colours, fonts, actives or overlays... I would rather have it all consistent, than to browse whole site and check, which color, font, underliines and all other configurations was used on button-like text links.

Some time ago, in a video, there was shown a pop-up menu, where it was possible to select, if the hyperlink will be button or standard text. Would it be possible, to us this again, so it is available for choose again?

Thanks again,
Michal

Hi Michal,

Many users asked about the possibility of style links in text controls, we have implemented this feature.

I would rather have it all consistent, than to browse whole site and
check, which color, font, underliines and all other configurations was
used on button-like text links.

Ok, I have transferred your request to our managers.

Some time ago, in a video, there was shown a pop-up menu, where it was

Unfortunately, I don’t understand which video do you mean. Please check all the Button styles.

OK, I tried more button styles. It made me quite confused because of the shadows that were auto applied and some other styling. However never mind, I changed that now properly.

Thanks,
Michal

Pleas help me. I don't want blanc lines before and after a text link. What can I do to make a 'normal' text link in stead of a button.

It should look like this: text text text LINK text tex text

and not:

text text text

Hello Senior,
it might be the older version of plugin. However, give it a try in the group instead?

I have made a text "link" within the text element, and it got converted to a button. Then I have set the style of the button with no shadows , borders, etc. But still, it is not standard text-like link.

Yesterday, I tried to make a tel:****** link, and it caused the link set to button, and divided numbers within divided to several rows instead.

So the resulting button displayed was like:

+420
123
456
789

instead +420 123 456 789 , where the width of the button was not possible to adjust as well as disable Word Wrapping.

Regards,
Michal

Unfortunately, we can't reproduce these two issues on our side. Could you please create private cases and provide temporary access to the site backend (if you have an issue in the plugin Editor) or your Nicepage Desktop website exported as a Project (if the issue occurs in the Desktop app) so that we can investigate them furhter.

Hello Susanna,
it happened in my Desktop App. In the header, i typed the phone number, and used the a href="tel:+423123132132" - whatever number, when the anchor was separated by spaces e.g. +423 123 132 132, which caused the button changed it appearance to tightened multi-row button like:
+423
123
132
132
As the buttons does not have the anchor points to manipulate with them, I got stuck because of that. That button was placed in the header in grid's cell aside of icon pointing to the same "tel:" link (within the group because of responsivity for different devices). I have already done it in another way, so I cannot attach the project for You, but I would preffer in such cases, that the buttons would have similar manipulation points like text elements have.

Thanks and best regards,
Michal

Hello support,
I made linked phone icon to the mentioned tel: ahref link, and I would like to have the phone number displayed on the web as well (linked text element), in case, that some web visitors are not yet aware, about the posibility to click the phone number, and dial it directly (in case the link is properly formated).

I want, that the phone number is visible (and readable as mentioned before - e.g.+420(SPACE)123(SPACE)123(SPACE)123 during web visit, not only once the phone icon got clicked.
If it is expected, that the anchor for phone does not have to contain any spaces, it can be badly readable, when there will be used some number with more similar digits (e.g. +420111171243 instead of well readable +420 111 171 243)
Thanks for your understandings.

Michal

Dear Support,

I have the same issue: If I "Edit with Nicepage" (Nicepage plugin version 2.24.8 in WordPress) and I add a link to a text, it converts automatically to button. I don't find how to convert it back to normal text link.

Reason I would like to do that, is, that there comes automatically blank lines after the button, and I do not know how to delete them.

Hi,

The conversion happens by design. To solve the issue with line breaks, please re-export the CMS theme from the Nicepage Desktop application updated to the most recent version. Then install the theme on your website. This should help.
