Exporting a Project from WordPress Plugin to Desktop App with Premium Plan – Is it possible?

Ask a Question

Hello Nicepage Team,

I am a Premium Plan user and I need clarification regarding the workflow between the WordPress plugin and the Desktop application.

I have built and customized a theme/project directly within the WordPress plugin. Now, I would like to export this specific project from WordPress and import it into my Desktop App (PC) to continue working on it offline and perform more advanced template adjustments.

However, I cannot find an option within the WordPress plugin to export the entire project as a .zip file for the Desktop App. It appears that:

Exporting a full project directly from the CMS plugin is currently not supported.

The only available workaround seems to be exporting individual blocks and reassembling them manually.

My questions to the support team:

Is there a way for Premium users to transfer a complete project (including all pages and settings) from WordPress back to the Desktop App?

If this is not currently possible, is this feature planned for a future update?

Being able to move projects freely between WordPress and the Desktop App would greatly improve the workflow, especially for professional interior design projects where local editing is often faster.

Thank you for your support!

Hello Dimitrios,

Nicepage pages created with the WordPress plugin cannot be exported as Wordpress template, either with a free or a paid license.

This limitation exists because the Nicepage WordPress plugin itself cannot be included inside a WordPress template or redistributed as part of a theme. Each website using Nicepage requires its own Nicepage account and license associated with that user.

As a result, a page created in the Nicepage WordPress plugin can be used only within the same WordPress installation and cannot be converted into a standalone template or transferred for reuse on other sites.

Correctly noticed, you can only recreate the theme with a desktop project`:
Open your plugin editor in WordPress and export the header and footer as blocks to recreate the theme and content blocks, too, if needed.
Go to the desktop app, create new project file, import your header and footer blocks, content blocks, copy other theme settings manually from the plugin editor - -colors, fonts etc.

After saving your project file (export it as a project) you can export it as a theme for WordPress for further installation or continue to adjust it locally with a desktop application.

Hello Anna,

thank you very much for your detailed and clear explanation.

You have truly saved me a great deal of time and effort, and helped me better understand the limitations of Nicepage. The workaround using the desktop application was especially helpful.

Many thanks again for your excellent support!

Best regards,
Dimitrios
