The reason I ask this is because I can't get to the cart.

I did a test site. added the default product list with three products. published it. Product list looks good. Click view and I go to the product detail page. But clicking the Add to Cart button does nothing. I though I might have to put the PayPal API ID in but that didn't do anything.

What am I missing here?

Here is the test site...

Okay, I have reset and now the new link is https://website5569542.nicepage.io

I will not touch it until I hear back from you.

BTW - the last one was so broken that every time I published it, it generated several additional product template pages automatically.

It would help if I knew what goes on in the background when I publish an HTML Ecomm site.

Hello Chuck,

The product Cart template is missing for HTML sites, it is only for export to CMS and further integration with e-commerce plugins. Now you can go to the Product Page or select directly Buy product.

In the Product details template, you need to add a Payment button. Please check more here - https://nicepage.com/doc/431831/getting-started-with-e-commerce and https://nicepage.com/doc/425789/payment-button-element

Let us know.

So that means that in HTML they have to buy one product at a time?

Hello Chuck,

It is, for now, only one product can be purchased at once.
The feature of e-commerce for HTML sites is newly implemented and we are still working on improving functionality, it will take time.

Hey, Chuck, I'm just a Nicepage user, but with experience in e-commerce website tools. Building a cart with an HTML-only product is difficult, since a "cart" implies storage of multiple items (and all the logistic nightmares that entails) in a system that is not inherently designed to work in a database environment. Until recently, Nicepage was a great tool for designing standalone HTML sites (static content) and TEMPLATES for CMS systems (WordPress and Joomla) which each had their own ecommerce plugins. For Nicepage to develop their own, standalone, cart capability will be a challenge that takes time and resources. I haven't researched this, but what would be cool is if Nicepage could find an existing stand-alone "cart" system that had a back-end API for populating inventory and transacting business, Nicepage would be able to build a front end and skip the complexities of dealing with CMS's and their constant updates.

Jack - As a retired software developer I completely understand the challenge. I guess I'm feeling a little "cheated" because I upgraded thinking this was already being done.

My project is to see how cheaply I can build a fully functioning print-on-demand store using Nicepage as an HTML wrapper around a Printify popup store. With Nicepage I can design a much better website then any template I've seen for ecommerce so far. I want to stand out in the crowed market and Nicepage will help me accomplish this.

I'm attempting to build an HTML wrapper for my yet-to-be print on demand store. In light of this conversation I'm going to use iframe HTML code to "insert" my POD store into my Nicepage website. Not Ideal. It will probably turn potential buyers off as it will not look integrated but, it gives me the cart and payment process I need. It's an experiment.

If I were not planning on selling so many products I could use PayPal's button creator which has a built in cart option. You basically build a product code and price for each of your products then tell PayPal to generate a button in HTML then insert the HTML into your page. You can generate a Buy Now or Add to Cart. but this is time consuming and therefore not really suitable for large inventory.

If Nicepage ever does get this to work in HTML it will be a game changer. Nicepage should look into what it would take to integrate Printify API to their system. Plug-N-Play baby!

Wish me luck! :-)
