Report a bug

Hi together,
to avoid GDPR Probs, Nicepage made it possible to embed google fonts into the theme.
Unfortunately, the google fonts are still linked.

Right now German websites with google fonts links are hardly attacked by lawyers, so we urgently need to solve this dangerous situation for clients where we used nicepage as an editor.

Best, Mike

Mike,

You can download the required font and upload it as a custom one.

Hi there,

I have the same problem like Mike already reported.
The Google Fonts are still linked means that in the header of the websites the code Nicepage is still creating, still uses a link to: fonts.googleapis.com
In my understanding the link to "fonts.googleapis.com" should be eliminated and should be replaced by a link pointing to the template/css/fonts directory.

Because if I ceckbox the option " Embed Google Fonts" I would expect Nicepage would do that.
Also because after enableing this option there is a fonts directory available.
Why is it not used?

And by the way.
Thanks for your answer Alan. But i did not understand it. Sorry.

Best regards an keep up the good work

Have a great day

Bernd

Some additional information:

I'm using Nicepage V4.17.10 (DeskTop-Version)
I was talking about Joomla (V4) Themes in the post above.

And when exporting the Website to HTML the fonts folder is created correctly and it is used and everything is working fine.
Just like expected.

Hello! Did you find a solution for this? Tried to do it myself, but the style.css is not shown in my FTP-Client. In this CSS the code for the googe font should be made...I feel very helpless...and just paid 100 Euros for Nicepage hoping not to get such problems :((((

I know this is caused by our German court, but I hoped that Nicepage would support us in this case :(((

Thank you!

Sybille,

The solution fonts is to enable the checkbox in the Site Settings, then republish, and reimport the theme and content if needed. As an alternative you can to download and upload needed fonts.

Hi Kuhn.sybille, for wordpress cms found a more practical solution by using a plugin, called local google fonts, (https://wordpress.org/plugins/local-google-fonts/). If this isnt working, there are other plugins also, especially related to the gdpr. the plugin works with nicepage and elementor pro also. Have always a good time, mike
