Confusing Folder and Export

Ask a Question

Hi, as I wrote before, I´ve lost all my own pictures. If I look in mydocuments/nicepage/project name/ I can see the folder "nicepage_removed".

Also I´m also confused, if I export a project and than make an import of the content, by opening the extension folder an searching for another "nicepage.zip". The name of the project/website would be better.

I want to make exports of different version of different projects. Till now it´s not possible for me to be sure, if I have exported all files for all projects. Using Artisteer in the past was much easier. I made a folder for each project an made an export of the Artsiteer project and saved the template versions for each project in the same folder. Everything was clear. Each project had it´s own pictures, template versions and so on.

I think Nicepage is nice tool, getting better and better, but can you please show me and the community an easy way, how to handle several projects with several version? I haven´t unterstood the project-folder logic of Nicepage yet.

My nicepage_folder is removed. Where can I find it now?

Thx for your support and keep the good spirit up!

Info: Nicepage Desktop, Windows 10, Joomla

Hi Robert,

Please launch Nicepage Desktop application. The dashboard displays all created websites. They are all stored in the same location. Always. All nicepage projects in one location. By default, this location is /Documents/Nicepage folder. If you want, you can change this location under the Profile >> Preferences. In this case, Nicepage will create a new /Nicepage folder in the new location and copy all websites to this new folder.
You cannot store different websites in different locations. One of the problems is that the dashboard will not display the list of websites.
If you need a backup of the current project simply export it as a Project to your hard drive. Then you can import this website back.

Also I´m also confused, if I export a project and than make an import of the content, by opening the extension folder an searching for another "nicepage.zip". The name of the project/website would be better.

The archive is named as "nicepage.zip" because it contains CMS plugin named as "Nicepage".

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I've been experiencing problems with the mac desktop version of nicepage. Export a project with a specific name and a chosen folder will export the project successfully, (see pic cul1.png) However, when I try to re-import the project the images are missing (see pic cul2.png).

The image files are still present but nicepage doesn’t display the thumbnails.

Hi Adrian,

Could you please create a new Private topic and provide the problem desktop Project so we can test it on our side.
