NicePage App is slow

Report a bug

Hello Olga, since recent updates in 2021, NicePage is now running very slowly. Whenever you're editing, there's a 2-5 second delay. This is causing a major headache.

I have discussed with other friends whom also use NicePage and they are all having the same issues. The site I'm creating is not big, does not use large images. This is a program error / bug.

Can you please fix with an update?

Hi, Adrian,

Thanks for using Nicepage! We are sorry to hear that.
We recommend you to close other apps and programs while working on Nicepage. This software requires enough RAM for comfortable work. Also, can you provide your project, so we can investigate the performance issues? It can help us to solve your issue. Also, try to create a new blank project. Will it run very slowly too?

Dear Support - I am having performance issues too. I have 12GB RAM installed. Nicepage only allcoates 0.5GB. When typing in an textbox there is a minimum delay of 3-5 seconds. And it is an one page project. Preselected theme id is 1265973 "Nature".
All other apps are closed. Any chance to improve performance - will there be an update soon? I installed the latest version.
Best regards

I agree, NicePage seems to be terminally slow these days.

I concur that NicePage is really slow and I've never seen it use more than 0.5GB of ram.
It's always around 0.5GB even when minimized. Seems like a lot to me. Much more than all my other software uses, even Photoshop.

And I gotta say, telling us to close other windows is a very bad answer. Even a 20 year old computer would be capable of having multiple windows opens.

Hello emNUWL, gypsypaz, john1284, and benjamin.friedrich,

The Desktop app uses the browser for the editor area. When you add something to the page or move it, the DOM is changed and the browser needs to recount the layout. This takes CPU resources, including CPU time. If you encounter such problems, we recommend that you disable applications launched in parallel that require CPU time — for example, antivirus.

We can recommend the following:
1) Disable all antiviruses and firewalls;
2) Disable browser plugins;
3) Disable YouTube Downloader and other similar proxy browser extensions and applications, if any;
4) Send us the Content of the Consol tab.

For that:
1) Go to the %AppData%\Nicepage\ folder;
2) Create an empty debug.txt file;
3) Run Nicepage;
4) Click F12 on your keyboard;
5) Click on the Console tab and copy its content;
5) Save to a text file and attach it to this case;
6) Then, run the Task Manager. Take screenshots of the Processor and Memory.

Sincerely,
Lilioneta

PC performance is far away from max...
using F12 does not work within nicepage...should I open it within a browser session?
I deinstalled antivirus, disabled firewall temporarily,
I had to browsers installed (chrome/edge) -> deinstalled chrome, edge has absolutely no addons

I created a new project with no content - added one text box, worked a little bit better, added some more..-> again lacking very much...
also I searched the forum, I think it is not the first time or I am the only one having that issue...also you are offering nicepage "premium" for 349 € -> that means it should be possible to get a software which has enough performance for creating more than one page with some more content like textbox only...

I'send you also a screenrecording in the next post.

additional info: I tried some other devices:
1st device (desktop): 4Core CPU Intel Core i5 , 12GB RAM -> shown in video
2nd device (work - laptop) : Intel core i7 6 Core CPU 8 GB RAM -> performance ok
3rd device(laptop) 2 Core CPU 4 GB RAM -> lacks more than in video but not much ...

Question: do I really need a new 1200€ development device for creating simple websites? - I Mean if I want to create highend video material or photoshop raw images...I would understand...

Hi,

The performance of the application depends on many factors including the number and size of images. A lot of big images slow down any editor including text editors. In the case of Nicepage, the browser inside the editor (in the Desktop app) needs to render all images and rebuild the layout each time you add or move/change something.

Are you serious? Disabling antivirus and firewall is your suggestion to properly work with Nicepage? As a system administrator, all alarm bells are now ringing for me.

Will be helpful too )))

If serious... Why Nicepage not convert big images to previews in editor mode (backend)? Can it automatically resize and optimize images in frontend (for example convert to webp to reduce size and increase SEO rank)?

Seems that Nicepage not for big projects, it's a toy to play around. Themler much better, but too old.

@Vitaliy...interesting reference to Themler...which is the same producer/manufacturer...seems to be a little other concept but in general the software is the same...nicepage has a nicer front end :) - they should combine the software engines :)

Yep. Actually it's different software:
Themler - template builder (it's awesome for creating Header, Menu, Footer etc., but awful for content creating)
Nicepage - page builder (it's good for content creating, but limited as template builder)

Themler can be combined with Nicepage or other 3rd party page builders (tested with SP Page Builder and works just perfect in this scenario), but Themler uses old Bootstrap 3, while Nicepage have own framework based on CSS Grid (you need to load two frameworks, that not good for page speed).

So, Themler will be best for multilanguage and multipage projects as corporate websites, real estate, catalogue etc., while Nicepage better for small websites and landing pages.

We're asking for Themler 2.0 with Bootstrap 5 and support only two CMS: Joomla 4 and WordPress 5, but no response from developers. New Themler 2.0 can rock and can be more combabilities with Nicepage.

We can recommend the following:
1) Disable all antiviruses and firewalls;

You cannot be serious.

The performance issues aren't caused by us or our machines: something changed on Nicepage desktop a few versions ago. Up to that point, it was reasonably responsive but it is now verging on being unstable.

Please make this a priority to fix.
