Ask a Question

I have a piece of google code to go onto each page. I go to site setting HTML and into Additional HTML code I coy in the text
Here it is
<!-- Global site tag (gtag.js) - Google Analytics -->

If I leave this page and look at SEO or others and come back its there. When I click done and then call up site settings again its gone. If I just click done after pasting it in it goes as well.

What am I doing wrong? Where should I be putting this code if not here? I am on the latest version. I am publishing to HTML, and of course this code does not go up

Hi Philip,

You are correct, comments are not allowed in the additional HTML area. Please consider removing them before adding the code in the application input.

Please tell me what the comments are in the tags that need to be removed.

Not experienced with HTML so please be very specific.

Hi,

Remove the first line of the code that is just above the script tag.
