Is it possible to make just a custom joomla module or load a nicepage block into the template?

Ask a Question

I don't understand something with how it works,

If I create a page and then create a template to look like the page, same header & footer of course, and lets say a block with a 2 panel grid with a map on one side and a contact form and contact information on the other.

How do I use this in Nicepage? While I can create this in the Post Template that seems to be only used for pages created in Joomla. If I want to create some pages in Nicepage to be able to use some of the options it offers, lets say the slideshow for example how do I use the block in my Nicepage created page.

Right now it seems the only options are Start With Blank Page, Automatically Build from Images & Ready -To-Use Templates but my created template is no where to be found.

Or maybe if a Nicepage created page could some how be used the same way as a Custom HTML module, assign it to a template area.

Hi,

Nicepage page is an analogy of the Joomla article. This is a content element.
The Post and Blog Templates are the theme elements. The theme is applied to the Joomla pages in the usual way.
Page and Template are two different entities. You cannot use page as a template and vise versa. Header and Footer is a theme element. Since this is a theme, they are displayed on the Nicepage pages too.

Could you please provide a more specific example of the result you want to achieve?

Sure

https://ShortStopDriveThru.com

You will have to go past the age verification and maybe accept cookies on the following page to navigate through the site, it is a liquor store site.

So anyway after you get to the current specials page you can navigate to the other 2 pages from the menu.

All the pages use the same bottom block, which is used in the post template as well. Now after adjusting the bottom block to look good in on all page views (sizes) the only way I know how to have it exactly the same on each page is to either make it perfect on page 1 then create the following pages by Duplicate, which works up until the point you have a hand full of pages and decide on a design or content change.

At that point the only solution I see is to fix the views for one page so block is perfect through out the views then copy and paste it into the other pages. Then delete the block that was there before.

Sure I can make the bottom block template areas and load the content from Joomla into these spots however I would be using a different map app as it would have to be a module in Joomla now and could use a Custom HTML module to handle the contact information before the contact form which actually is templated into the block already.

At that point if everything is coming in from modules via Joomla what is nicepage being used for? Hence the other idea, if the bottom block could be saved as a custom html module or something that could be imported into a page.

Here is another example where only 3 areas change per page but had to create each one separate instead of a more robust template. All pages except the home page.

Alfred,

As we said, the Nicepage Extension is for editing Article Content. You can use the Application to build a template. However, Age Verification, etc., is the functionality that is not yet realized. Therefore you can use the third-party modules and code.

Thank you!
