Ask a Question

I want a longer title.
The web page may be called index
But I want in the title to say <title>Philip Home Page
I can't change one without the other.
I have a 30 character limit and if I do use that then the menus are too long.
At present, the only way I can do this is to export to HTML and then use an editor before I FTP the files up and this needs to be done every time I make a change.

Hi Philip,

Thank you for contacting us.

I want a longer title.

Please explain this request in more details. Exactly what title you're referring to?

Nicepage automatically creates index.html file white exporting. This file is a copy of the page specified as home page under the Site Settings.
In order to change the head title simply open Page Properties >> SEO tab and change Title.

I have a 30 character limit and if I do use that then the menus are too long.

You can click on the menu >> Editor menu >> select item and change item Caption. This will help you to use different page name and menu item name.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,
Olivia

I will give an example in Artisteer I created my webpage. Its page name and the title is index.html and of course home.html. The HTML title is <title>Hemel Hempstead Private 1:1 Tuition</title>
This means in the navigation it's easy to find as home or index, but the web description is easier to understand and gives more info at the top of the browser and for web analytics.
To do this I had to generate and export the file then change the code in an external editor.
I am having to do the same thing in Nicepage and I was wondering if I could do better.
My experiments have allowed me to edit the page name but this makes the navigation menu at the top of the page very long.
So can I change the name of the web page and the HTML <title> code separately?
menu >> Editor menu >> select item and change item Caption. This will help you to use different page name and menu item name. No this changes the name of the page in the navigation bar and makes the labels way too long.
