Show or Hide If conditions – YES/NO values and incorrect numeric logic

Ask a Question

Hello Nicepage Support,

I have a question about the Show or Hide If conditions in NicePage forms.

I have a form connected to Google Sheets, and I need the answers to be saved as YES and NO (or ANO and NE) instead of 0 and 1.

For example, I have a field with two options:
- YES — Value: 1
- NO — Value: 0

However, I have noticed that the conditional logic does not work as expected. It seems that the value 1 does not work correctly for YES, and 0 does not work correctly for NO.

This is confusing and does not seem logical to me. I would expect the condition to work according to the actual value assigned to the option. If YES has the value 1 and NO has the value 0, the Show or Hide If condition should recognize these values correctly.

I would like to use the actual text values YES and NO instead of numeric values.

My questions are:

  1. Is it possible to use text values such as YES and NO in Show or Hide If conditions?
  2. If not, why do the numeric values 1 for YES and 0 for NO not work correctly?
  3. Is there a way to configure the form so that the conditional logic works correctly and Google Sheets receives the actual text values YES and NO instead of 1 and 0?

I need to keep the conditional fields working correctly while saving readable answers in Google Sheets.

Could you please explain how to achieve this directly in NicePage?

Thank you for your help!

Hello Lenka,

Thank you for contacting us.

Yes, you can use text values. Please select the Radios field, open the Options menu (...) of each item, click Edit and set the Value to YES and NO.

Then select the dependent field, enable Show or Hide If and type YES (or NO) in the Value field. You can type your own value there instead of choosing a number from the list.

You can find more details here:

The numeric values 1 and 0 also work in the condition in the latest version. Please update the Nicepage plugin to the latest version 8.8.2 (now you have 8.7.6). If the condition still does not work after that, please send us a link to the page with the form.

Thank you very much, it’s working now! I don’t know why it wasn’t working before. I’m sure I tried the same thing, but anyway, I’m sorry for bothering you unnecessarily. 😊
