Why are all my images renamed to random number string

Actually we work with the images not in such simple way. The uploaded image is being processed with the several modifications on the road.
But I have asked our developers to look into this behavior once again and see if they could change the way images are processed in the application.

Surely you can still process the images in whatever way you want but not change the file name? Keep the designers file naming the same :)

Our managers have discussed this option yeasterday and they have decided to leave the images names as they are and only add numbers in the end if the image name already exists in the project. This solution is already implemented in the desktop version and also will be included in the online editor and plug-ins in the next update.

So doing so also reduces SEO optimisation as designers the names we assign images no longer stick due to this silly naming convention.

I notice on the last update this morning adding any new images goes back to the numbering naming convention Ver 1.0.100

That update was more like a hotfix update and this new functionality was not included. But it will be in the next updates, we are completing the testing on our side.

I always download the latest version and it seems to me that the issue of having numbers added to the image name has not yet been resolved. Am I wrong here?

It seems to me that even if you delete them, it knows they were already there as it continues to rename by adding a number to filename.

Did you remove the image directly in the editor or in My Images dialog?
Does the issue happen if you upload a new image?

I removed it from the page i was working on, removed it from my local images folder and from the server images folder, and then created a new photo with the same name. If I upload a new image with a name that has not been used it is fine. Any time I upload an image for the second or third time (SEO reasons) it adds -1, -2, -3 etc.

Do you mean images with the same name? If so, this ps proper behavior. You cannot have a few images with the same name. If you want to use the same image please load the image from the "My Images" tab.
