Error unable to load page

Ask a Question

Working in the desktop version, I have a site with 7 pages. I can open all 7 pages and work on them as normal. But when I leave a page, I get: ERROR ... unable to load page. I click OK and just continue working with some other page. It seems like there is a phantom page hanging in there but I can't see any indication of it being there.

Any ideas?

Hi James,

Please export your theme as a project and attach it to the ticket. Also provide the step-by-step instruction for us on how to reproduce the problem.

Thanks Hella ... here you go ... You'll see the error just loading the site ... once past the error message, things work as expected. My guess is that there is a reference to a deleted page in the .json file.

Hi James,

I have no error message when loading the project. Please try to import this exported project and see if you get the issue again. Attach a screenshot of the error message you get.

Hi Hella,
Sorry for wasting your time. The error was caused by a different site whose name I changed in the NicePage folder. I shouldn't have done that.

One other question ... is there a way from inside NicePage that I can tell what the name of the folder the site is stored in? The attachment show my NicePage folder ... it's hard to know which website is in which folder.

Hi James,

Unfortunately there is no way to set the name for those folders. You can only try to identify your site by opening the files, maybe the images folder.

Hi Fred,

If you have any technical problems with the project, please create a new private topic with the detailed issue description and provide the problem website exported as Project so we can investigate this issue.

Hi Fred,
I wish NicePage would allow us to determine the file names projects are stored under ... since they don't ... that's why we are having this problem. I just settled on saving the projects out to a "backup" folder just before closing down and that works for me. I do like having some control to help myself out when I do something stupid.

Well maybe you should start naming the project folders after the sitenames configured in the app instead of using "site_<insert random number>" then. Would make it a whole lot easier to identify them. Especially if you have a lot of sites and some even share image artwork.
