Ask a Question

Here's my question/situation. Say I build a site for a client and they want to be able to make updates on it themselves once it goes live. I have them purchase the desktop application but in their case this is for Mac OS. I am building the site using desktop application for windows. Is it possible for me to export the project file from windows and provide to them and they import into the Mac Os desktop application? And subsequently, if they make any changes or updates, export the project file back to me for my windows desktop application to use?

Hi,

Yes, you can export your Project from Windows and import it to the app on Mac OS. You can also import a Project from Mac OS to Windows.

Another solution is to publish your site to Nicepage Hosting so you can restore it on another PC without importing the Project file. To do this, you need to use the same account on both computers.

Let us know if you need our further help!

Yes this would be two different accounts though. Mine and the clients. I would use your hosting if you had the editor feature so I could make an editor account for the client and then give them access to the site so they can make their updates but you do not. The only workaround in this case I can see is I will host the site on my own server, they purchase the desktop software for their Mac OS and then I can give them the project file once I've built and launched the site for them to have and make any updates and then just export it to html and ftp it to their site. And subsequently if at some time I would need to go back and do anything on the site they can give me the current project file and so forth and so on.

Yes, if you have different accounts, the only way is to export and import the Project file between two PCs.
