Hi,
I'm using PHP snippets on my page and export as HMTL.
When will Nicepage be able to save pages as PHP as well?

It's very laborious to rename the page to *.php and replace the php include syntaxes everytime when saving a new page version to my webserver.

Thanks

I have an Ultimate Edition license and was very surprised that there is no option to save files with .php or other extensions. Even more confusing is that there is an option for php elements, but they would never work with a .html file. I consider that a bug, not a feature enhancement. Nicepage is advertised as being able to create WordPress and Joomla templates but they must be in PHP so it really can't without renaming the pages, editing the links and a lot of manual processing.

People have been asking for the ability to save with a different extension for years. I don't understand why the request is being ignored.

I also do not understand why the PHP feature is not integrated for normal websites. It is very tedious to create a page with PHP Include scripts. You have to change the extension .html for .php and manually edit PHP blocks. As well as the program is otherwise, that's really annoying. I think there are many web designers who would use NicePage if that would work with PHP pages.

Don't hold your breath. They're too busy coming up with fancy features to boast about and ignoring the more important basics. They still haven't done anything about word wrap that people have been on them about for quite some time. Word wrap is about as basic as you can get. Even the ancient html editors like Dida Pro have word wrap... as well as Windows' light weight notepad. How hard can it be? Way too many things being added to their 'wish list'

Yes, I fully agree. Nobody needs the latest features. I have to laboriously rewrite the pages manually every time. It can't be that difficult to save it as php. If the php option doesn't come soon, I won't be using nicepage anymore and will have to build my own framework for my site. The Joomla integration is also very cumbersome. Nicepage Editor takes forever to load.

Really?? Really?? There is no option to save pages as *.php? Really? This one stupidly-simple thing makes this program worthless to so many. Is it still not fixed?

I saw that there was a PHP element and thought I could just include some PHP on my page, which I can, but without the page ending in .php instead of .html, it will never work on the server. I'm so bummed because I JUST payed for this program.

Hi,

As we've replied to you the PHP element aims to implement PHP code on PHP-based CMS such as WordPress and Joomla. With the Nicepage plugin in WordPress and Joomla, you can use PHP code on Nicepage pages but not on static HTML websites. To prevent misunderstanding and confusion for our customers we offer our users a 7-day trial with all premium features, so they can test it and decide if the Nicepage satisfies their needs.

I don't want to use the Joomla version because it is very confusing and extremely difficult to use.
Since nicepage has no interest in being able to save the pages as *.php and I still don't want to leave, I built a workaround that works great and easily for me.

I incorporate the PHP snippet with placeholders e.g. AAAphp ...einScript... BBB as a block. Then I built my own update script that copied the *.html as *.php and converted the placeholders into <?php ...einscript...?> and various other things. I call this when the pages are uploaded.
I don't upload the startpage.html, but have created an index.php in which I include the startpage.php.

Is it possible that it is still not possible to set up and export html pages with a .php file extension?

Seems such a basic requirement that many people will want and I assume it should not be difficult to implement.

I cannot find the option in site settings in the builder.

Am I wrong?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out!

Currently, Nicepage does not offer the direct option to export HTML pages with a .php file extension. The exported files are in .html format by default. However, you can manually change the file extensions after exporting by renaming the .html files to .php. This approach works well if no additional PHP code is required.

If your project involves embedding or using PHP-specific functionalities, you can edit the exported files in a text editor (like VS Code or Notepad++) and insert the necessary PHP code into the renamed .php files.

Please let us know if you have further questions or need assistance.

Hi Beate,

Your request is included to our wishlist.

I don't think this should be difficult to implement - am I wrong?

It is clear form this thread alone that many people would wish to export their pages with a .php extension.

Is it still on the wishlist? Any idea when tit will get to the top of the wish list?

Hello Colin Kinsella,

Please be assured that the proposition has been added to our wishlist, and we will monitor the votes for this feature.

Unfortunately, we can't tell you the exact time for the implementation as it depends on several things, like the overall workload of our developers, RoadMap, and the manager's approval, not only on the difficulty of one feature.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.
