Important Wordpress Shortcode Bug

Report a bug

I added a shortcode to my Wordpress page. There is a contact form from wpform inside. The height of this contact form can change depending on the situation. In other words, when you hide and show some fields, their heights naturally change. When I display the hidden fields and the form size gets longer, I cannot scroll up and down on the Wordpress page. Even if I scroll down with the scrollbar, it goes back up as soon as I touch the mouse wheel. In order for it to return to normal, I have to manually change the browser size after this situation occurs. If I do this, page scrolling is activated again.

This does not happen if I use old themes. I think this is a bug that came with the latest updates. I manage an important site and this is an unacceptable problem for me.

Hello Main,

Please share the link to the page in question.

If the shortcode is added to a WordPress page, not a Nicepage page added with a plugin, the active theme styles are applied.
What active theme is applied now on the site?

We frequently make visual changes to the Header and Footer areas. So even if we initially select a theme, we often add buttons or make other edits to the Header. For this reason, we constantly keep the "Nicepage Header and Footer" option active, as it allows us to work more flexibly. If we were to choose "Theme Header and Footer", we would have to edit and update the theme externally every time we make a change, which is not practical. This flexibility is one of the main reasons we chose to use the Nicepage system.

All active pages on the site are currently built using this system. When we switch to "Theme Header and Footer", the page uses last year’s theme and the scroll issue does not occur. However, even if we re-upload and activate the theme freshly now and select "Theme Header and Footer", the scroll issue still appears. This leads us to believe that the problem was introduced with one of the recent updates.

Let me share with you the link to the broken version of the page:

Since this issue is urgent for us, we are currently trying to work around it by splitting the form into two separate pages and avoiding the use of show/hide field functionality.

Hello Main,

So, the shortcode is added to a Nicepage page.

Yes, you can switch the header/footer and page template, but the active site's version should be updated anyway, along with the plugin version if you use the Nicepage theme.
How can we check this?

When I display the hidden fields and the form size gets longer, I
cannot scroll up and down on the Wordpress page. Even if I scroll down
with the scrollbar, it goes back up as soon as I touch the mouse
wheel. In order for it to return to normal, I have to manually change
the browser size after this situation occurs. If I do this, page
scrolling is activated again.

We update at least every two days. So both the plugin and the site are at the latest versions. By the way, we have other sites and we used the same form on our other sites just to try it out. The result is the same.

By the way, what is sh? I would like to state that we have no knowledge of code etc. That's why we use Nicepage.

Main,

We can't see the issue with the form and described behavior with the scroll, please check the form with another browser/device - http://somup.com/cTfFlisCus

You can try the shortcode with a Wordpress post page and WordPress theme. Will there be an issue?

You may not have seen the problem because you probably changed the size of your browser or made it full screen after opening the form. In this case, if you refresh the page and try again, you can see the problem. In other words, intervening in the browser's window size eliminates the problem.

Hello Main,

We have checked with a laptop and can see the scrolling issue. It is likely due to the container not adjusting its height to accommodate the expanded form. This can cause the browser to miscalculate the page's scrollable area, leading to a scrolling malfunction.
Please add additional CSS to the Page Settings or Site Settings if you will have other forms on site :

.u-shortcode,
.u-shortcode .wpforms-container,
.u-shortcode .wpforms-form {
height: auto !important;
overflow: visible !important;
}

Let us know.
