Ask a Question

I have a problem,
I would like to make a template for posts to make it interesting. Unfortunately, to my surprise, the number of options to set for the theme is minimal or not at all. And I need a function for commenting on posts on my site. And so that the comments are in a given entry and not available to the general public, in addition, I would like the person who wanted to submit their comment to have to enter their data such as name and email. which will not be displayed.

Please help me how can I do this.

Hello Piotr,

a function for commenting on posts on my site.

  1. For this you need to enable comments in the Post details element >> Metadata , see attached. This section in Nicepage Post template will output comments.
  2. Enable Comments on Posts in WordPress, go to your WordPress Dashboard >> Settings >>Ensure the option “Allow people to submit comments on new posts” is enabled, more about this section here - https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/settings-discussion-screen/
    https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/comments-screen/

comments are in a given entry and not available to the general public

Make Comments Private (Restricted to a Given Entry)
Password-protect the post (via the post editor → Visibility → Password Protected).
Alternatively, use a membership or role-management plugin to control access to the post and its comments.

person who wanted to submit their comment to have to enter their data such as name and email. which will not be displayed

WordPress requires users to provide their name and email by default if not logged in. To ensure this:
Go to Settings → Discussion.
Enable “Comment author must fill out name and email.”
This information will be stored in your WordPress database but will not be displayed publicly.
...................................................
Sincerely,
Anna.
