Ask a Question

Hello, I'm trying out FTP export for wordpress but I'm unsure of what rmote directory means.
Wordpress root folder ?
Theme root folder ?

It'd be nice if this can install / update nicepage plugin at the same time that it exports theme's files/pages.

Aristide,

You need to specify a folder for the theme.

Unfortunately, you need to update plugin and import content manually since it may require some changes in DB.

Okay, then some tips in the UI would be nice. Something like :
path to the wordpress theme (example: ../wp_content/themes/mytheme)" would be nice

But in my opinion it would be much better to just ask for wordpress root folder and let the FTP export upload to the correct directory (using theme's name) and upload the new plugin the the plugin folder (deleting any exisiting one) then we would just need to activate the plugin again (if that can help with the db changes).

Last thing would be to split the plugin / pages export, choose to export theme / pages / plugin / project files separately.

Thanks, and it's really nice to FTP export to wordpress :D much less theme / pages upload/update on wordpress interface is way better !

Aristide,

Thank you for your suggestion.

We have improved a little the Export to FTP dialog, but currently only export theme is supported.

Export for content and plugins requires much more work, and will be implemented a bit latter.
