Ask a Question

Good morning,

I've got a question:
It is possible to hide a section in the mobile mode.
But when i try to hide a slider section, the "hide on mobile" option doesn't show.
What could here be the case?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Frank,

Please open the Slider control options in the right panel and navigate to the Main tab. There you will see the Hide On option.

Sorry Hella,
I thought i've walked trough the options thoroughly, but i missed that one.
Thanks a lot.

I'm making a second website now with Nicepage. What an awesome programm!!!
Only the combination Joomla - position - posttemplate is a bit hard to understand.
And because Joomla always works with modules it would great if Nicepage explains that a bit more.
Nicepage always show seperate pages, but it would be fine if they made a complete website with modules on several positions.
Then we can see how it works.
Thanks in advance.

Frank.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your feedback. The workflow with the positions is mostly caused by the way Joomla handles positions, there is no way to simply add a new position within the content area, that is not allowed by Joomla. So we only can call the existing position in the content area to show some position with its content. The requirement is that the position with that name should already exist in the template part (not content), like header, footer, blog or post template. We have an article with the video explaining how to work with the Joomla positions:

Hi Hella,
It looks easy but when you use positions in Joomla, there are several issues.
- Every position made in Nicepage(desktop) creates empty spaces in Joomla when it is not used.
- and every time i make an adjustment to the website in Nicepage(desktop) and i export it to Joomla i've to set all the modules in the positions to a certain page again.
These difficulties i never see in the subjects although they immediatly show up when you make a bigger website.
Can you help me with this?

Thanks in advance.
Frank.

Hi Hella,
one issue solved.
The one with the empty spaces; there was a position made in my Post template.
Didn't know that it isn't necessary to make every position in de Post template.
In a page is also possible.

I almost getting there.
Frank

Hi Hella,
Update.
It's possible to omit the positions in de Post template and the website in Joomla looks fine.
But when choosing the positions in Joomla, they are not visible anymore.
So therefore i must add all the positions in the Post template.
And then again i see empty spaces in the website.
The only change i can get rid of it, is to keep the positions as small as possible, but the minimum height is about 80 pixels.
So still i'm stuck with the spaces :-(

Do you have a solution?
Frank

Hi Frank,

Sorry for the delay.
When Position control is added to the Post or Blog template, it is added to the theme and displayed in Joomla as usual. But when the Position is added to the Page, it is added to the content (Joomla article). Joomla does not allow to create positions in the content, which is normal because the position is a theme element. The Position added to the Page works similar to the Joomla {loadposition} shortcode. You can type the name of the position manually under the module settings, and this module will be displayed in this position even if it does not exist in the theme. This workaround should help if you do not need positions on the Post and Blog Templates.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Olivia

Hi Olivia,

I think now i understand that part.
But what if i want a sidebar only at the articles. So not at the whole site (not against header and footer).
At the post-template there is no posibility to do that.

Thanks,
Frank.

Frank,

If you want a sidebar only at the articles, use Blog template. Turn on sidebar at the Blog template.
