Ask a Question

Dear Friends
I read some posts from 2020 . . . I think the following is needed:
1) A FIND/REPLACE function when developing websites. This is critical as we always need to search for text AND to replace all instances of a text (especially when copying one site to another). The text should cover all text items, names of pages, etc.
2) In some web development tools, they had an add-in or a component that can be placed on a page that allows visitors to search for entries in our websites . . . . this is also a very useful function,

I hope these are in the pipeline
Thanks
Akram

Hi Akram,

Nicepage editor does not provide a Search function for HTML websites. To make the working search on the static html website you need to index the content and create a search API to access this index. This is quite a complex task. Therefore, the Nicepage Search element works with the built-in CMS search engines only. In general, Nicepage provides a few options to add custom HTML, CSS, and JS to your website. Therefore, if you have a ready solution for Searching on static HTML websites you can try using these options to connect the external search engine to your website.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Friends
Can you clarify this?
For years, I used X5 WEbsite (EVOLUTION) before I moved to NicePage . . . with pleasure
I used HTML in that tool.
They had an add-in (presumably written in HTML) that I could place on my header to allow users to search.
Can't this be developed for NicePage?

How about "internal find / replace"? Very useful, especially since you all us to DUPLICATE, everywhere . . . once you duplicate, most often, you would need FIND/REPLACE

THanks

Akram,

Unfortunately, searches require a database; html sites do not use that. It's not possible, unfortunately, in html

Hi Akram,

Thanks for the suggestions. As for the search option on the site content for visitors, you can use the search module for the WP and Joomla sites.
