Ask a Question

Hello, Nicepage Team.

I´m creating a website that needs to embed videos but not from Youtube but self hosted videos... How can this be achieve in Nicepage? Don´t want to use plugins or inserted HTML code.

And how to embed other kinds of media, like audio without having to use an external host. Nicepage needs to be able to embed video and audio for itself in case this content´s owners rights or so.

Hi Luis,

If your video is already hosted on some place, then simply use the direct link to the Video file and insert it into the Video control.

Thank you, Hella.

I´m talking about having uploaded my videos into my web hosting service along with all the other website files... Let´s say, just as I add an image or a Youtube video, but a video that is right into a folder in my website file structure.

Hi Luis,

Do you mean that you want to load the video into the application while designing the site and then export the whole theme with the video? there is no such possibility. You need to load the video file on your hosting beforehand manually and then use the link within the Video control.

Hi Luis,
Thanks for adding to my question - I apologize for not knowing if NicePage now has a better solution. I have not truly tested anyones solution either as - this is not how I hope to work with video - however understand what to do - my situation is a little different.

I have videos on my computer, not posted on any site - companies / clients really don't want to work that way due to copywriter protection of their intellectual properties. And these companies, have the coin to house and pay for streaming. So - I just want to drag drop Video onto a design page -- while a client is next to me and see how things will look.
WEBYDO, WEBFLOW, BOOTSTRAP STUDIO 4, SPARKLE, BLOCs and MOBIRISE as well as many other applications, all allow this workflow to happen, so I can not see why a common process would not be added to NicePage. What a few of these mentioned apps may not do, is package the video when needed to post... again not the question nor what I expect.

I have been told, to be careful with video sizes. I been told that pre-posting on Youtube or the likes was a better method due to the limits of video sizes and settings and all that for streaming reasons. Yes, yes all understandable however the fact that NicePage can not perform a common function which competing APPLICATION can is not good for NicePage. I am fully aware of the benefits and the process of compressing MP4 video for streaming. I am capable of posting video on Youtube etc when the project is completed - but to work that way is not typical. In a professional environment working with clients, this work flow in NicePages is as backwards as using custom Fonts. And to add to that notion - so is the macOS version. The menus are not typical MAC style - the lack of using proper MAC drop down menus could make many buyers on the MAC platform steer away for the app. These are why I mention the things I have... in hopes it could improve NicePage.

In addition - I am well aware of what other applications are capable of and what is planned in upcoming updates. Not that I am a developer - just that Nicepage claims it is the easiest Web 3.0 site designer - I can argue that it is not. Sparkle unfortunately is unavailable for Windows - yet it is the most logical and easiest Web 3.0 applications on the planet - though having its limits. Webydo would be second to none, as it is packed with power for truly professional level users and clients as expected, yet comes at a steep cost to use. Nicepage is beautiful and at v2.15 has tons of promise - I really enjoy using it - although find many many cases the app messes up my projects and has issue doing something I expect to be rather straight forward and easy. Recently I discovered the RE-SET RESPONSIVENESS button... it helped a bit. However many times I find myself re-constructing blocs to fix the issues I have.
