Changing header and footer in wordpress

Hi,

Nicepage plug-in for WP allows to create content pages. If you want to edit the theme elements, then you need to use the desktop application and export the theme.

eh ? - just started using NicePage and fell at the first hurdle. I want to change the height and width of the header.
I am using the desktop version , I export the WP theme (as you suggest) - I cant see anywhere that allows me to change the header dimensions. Plus why should I have to export it as WP theme before I can change the Header sections ?

If I wanted to create a 'plain' website - I would also want to change the header dimensions. I cannot see where to change the Header dimensions i the windows desktop app.

Can you enlighten me - where/how I do this - thanks

Hi,

When working in the desktop application you can control the Header height with the marker, like on the screen shot here:

If you need to have a different width for your Header, then you can make the Header itself Transparent and insert a container with the desired width. Like you can see here:

Also in the future we will add the option to add the fixed height in pixels for the section (in the right panel).
For now please let me know if the information above was helpful. And if you have any example of the Header you wanted to create and was not able in Nicepage, please provide a screen shot here.

Will there be the ability to edit header and footer in Wordpress in the near future? It was a really nice feature in Themler and I was wondering why it cant be duplicated in Nicepage. This is really high an my wishlist :)

that and the ability to remove title and metadata from pages, but leave them on the post would be greatly appreciated in the very near future

Hi I have a question, if I set a site in wordpress and I need to change the logo or something in the footer, in wordpress you can't re-enter and see the header and footer sections ... how can you do without having to change on windows software and export the whole project again?

Hi,

The plug-in on the site is the content editor only. The theme elements can be edited in the desktop application only. So to edit the theme elements, you need to edit the theme in the desktop application.

Here's the big problem with not being able to edit headers and footers in Wordpress on the website. Changes get made to the theme in Wordpress and there is no way to export the theme and import back into the desktop version. So unless we make ALL changes in both the desktop and wordpress versions (and why would we want to do that?) there is never a way to change the header and footer. This is a pretty big deal especially with the footer. Footers often change in different views and can be way too big on a tablet for example. You said the wordpress site is for content only but you make all the tools available to make/change the design. So please help all of us designers using Nicepage and either let us change headers/footers or export the site.

You can edit the Header and Footer in the desktop application separately from the content. Just export the Theme only, without content and install it on the site, which will reflect only the changes in the theme.
But the suggestion is in our wishlist.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO TO HIDE THE THEME FOOTER. It does not let you. It's something nicepage leaves in to leave a signature. I wish we could take the footer off on wordpress but seems impossible. I contacted word press and they said its a nicepage issue.

Do you mean Footer block or footnote "Made with Nicepage"?
In the first case, you can disable Footer for Templates on the corresponding template. The Footer will be disabled in the theme and on all pages that use this theme.
Additionally, you can disable it for individual pages in Nicepage plugin for CMS.

The "Made in Nicepage" footnote can be disabled under the Site Settings >> General in both the Desktop application and CMS plugin.
