Ask a Question

So, firstly I like using Nicepage its more intuitive than themler for inexperienced users like myself.

The problem I'm having is that I created the first page including the footer, the footer has three block of text. Once i import the theme and content to wordpress The footer section is present but no blocks of text. I'm sure it maybe a widget issue or something else i'm completely missing?

Hi,

Exactly what controls you added to Footer in the Desktop application?
If you added position controls you should add some widgets inside these widget areas under the WP Appearance >> Widgets.
Also, please note that Footer is a part of the theme. Therefore you need to export either Theme or Theme with Content and then activate Nicepage theme.

Thank you,
Olivia

Please, how do you sort this out? I have nightmare on this. And all the video don't seemed to be understandably working. As if one would have to create a separate template for every features one desire. How many template would one have to create to have positions like footer one , two, three, four etc , side bar position (right or left) one, two, three etc.

My main issue is this. the footer content I made with desktop never showed up when exported. then I went to the exported template and recreated the footer as it was in the desktop. And it showed up. I was thinking, Great! My problem is solve but it was the beginning of another nightmare. It does not show up in any content I created using Joomla native editor, except I use Nice page plug in. And I am upgrading the site. Which means I will have to export the content from the old site and its a large with a lot of pages. If its a new site, I would just go ahead and create all the content with nicepage plugin.

I mailed the developer, and they reply I have to create the a module to sit on that position through the position and short code menu. I did that and created in a grid cell (1,2,3,4) as footer 1,2,3,4 , delete the site and installed a new site and export the temp with the content (every option selected). And what happened? When I go to the modules, I see all the footer I created with the template but no position. I then tried to place them in position but only see footer 1 and 2 position. I never saw the those footer 1- 4 position I created. I believe the ones I saw are the ones that came with the template I used for the footer [May be one should delete the one that comes with the template used and create it from the scratch; not even sure that would solve the problem] Well, I went ahead to place them there and at the front end, they lined up vertically instead of horizontal. Hhhhhhnnnnmmmmmm!

I don't want to to keep bothering the developer. So I started searching the forum and I see this article. Kindly advise; though I will still open a ticket for this. I believe strongly on this Apps and putting heads together and making suggestion, we can make evolve to the point of excellence we all anticipate and expected it to have.
Thank you in anticipation.

Hi Joadeika,

The Position element does not create a static text Block. It creates a position for Joomla modules. Therefore there is no point in editing the dummy text inside this element.
Module position is a theme element in Joomla. Nicepage plugin does not edit theme. The theme can be created and edited in the Desktop application only.
So, if you need a module position in the Footer, you should add position elements in the Footer, set the names of the positions, export and install the theme on your Joomla website. Then add desired Joomla modules to the footer module positions.

Nicepage plugin does not support theme editing. But it includes the template with Header and Footer that can be applied to the Nicepage pages only. You see the Header and Footer from this template in the editor.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
