Uploading to Wordpress Error

When I upload my exported site to wordpress I get this error:

The import archive contains one or more invalid files. Please make sure the names of your XML files don't contain punctuation marks like brackets, commas, quotes, etc.
Make sure you are using a valid WordPress export file in XML or ZIP format.

How can I fix this because I do not want to build the website again.
