Sticky menu with non-transparent background

Ask a Question

The sticky menu option is important (to keep choices available no matter where within the scrollable area you are). However, when the website begins to scroll up, it seems to be displayed under the menu layer, and if the colour of the content is similar to the colour of the menu item font, the menu sort of disappears. Is there a way to specify that the sticky area has a SOLID background, so that the scrollable content will not obscure the menu as the user scrolls down the page? I'm referring to the SECTION having a solid background, not the menu items themselves.

Never mind - I found it! It was in the "Edit Theme" section under the "Page" tab.

My response to my own question says exactly where I found the capability. If that's not clear enough, please open your own question thread to get help from Nicepage.

Hi,

You can enable the Sticky option for the whole header area under the Header control options in the right panel.

I know how to have my menu be transparent over a hero image, and I know how to put a background behind my sticky scrolling menu, but how can I do the latter without it also putting a background behind my menu over the hero image (which I need to stay transparent until the viewer scrolls and the background kicks in)? I can do this with other themes like Astra but Nicepage overrides the settings in other themes.

Is it a setting that I just haven't found yet, or is not a Nicepage capability yet?

Thanks, Tony

If I understand correctly, you want a transparent menu background until you scroll, then it becomes opaque?
Yes you can.
Sometimes you need to uncheck the Sticky box and recheck it to work. Do the background first before checking the box.

Yes Merlin, that's what I want. I'll try it again. Last time I did, it removed the transparency from the top hero menu and added the opaque background there as well.
