There is no need to edit the code. Just open the Site Settings >> General tab for your site and there will be the option to load the favicon.

Looks like you're using Joomla plugin. Favicon is a theme element. Therefore you should add it to the Nicepage theme in Nicepage Desktop if you're using Nicpage theme.
But as far as I know for Joomla it is enough to put the file named favicon.ico into the Joomla root directory on the server. This icon will be used automatically.

Danke Olivia, ich habe es auch schon auf die beschriebene Weise ausprobiert, jedoch ohne Erfolg. Ist es denn möglich, Nicepage ohne Joomla zu verwenden? Ich denke nein. Viele Jahre benützte ich Artisteer, dann machte ich Versuche mit Themler und jetzt mit Nicepage. Weiss noch nicht, wo ich mich festlege.

Warum nicht? Der Code von Nicepage ist mit jedem System hochkompatibel. Die Leute generieren HTML und verwenden es, wie sie wollen, ohne Probleme.

Nice Page as Joomla-Plug in and Nice Page as Desktop Version.

So once I tried my first NP-template in Joomla and used the Plug-In Version for the necessary corrections there is no way to get this corrected version back to the desktop version?

This clinch leads more or less to correct twice the work on my site.
It seems that several problems with a newly created joomla- or wordpress-templates popping up only if it's tested, and that leads into a situation, in which it goes back and forth -- very labor-intensive.

In my case it led to several questions, which show up only in Joomla, like the favicons, internal and external links, email recapture, privacy-notice-routines, menue-handling.

Actually you do not need to transfer the work you have on the live site in the desktop application. Just continue to edit the content on your site using the plug-in. If you need to change the theme elements, then simply export the theme only from the desktop application.
