Ask a Question

Hi

I need to know how to select specific BLOGs to Blog Post rather than the system auto picked blogs.

I have many BLOGS and I want to put them in different BLOG POST Blocks and how do I manually choose the ones I WANT TO CHOOSE?

I have attached a SCREENSHOT of what I am trying to do.

Please can you help me with this?

Thank you
Sam

Hi Samantha,

You can set specific categories for your posts and then select the category in the Blog element so it will show the posts from the specific category.

Hello Samantha,

Nicepage has no post categories for sites exported to HTML same for post tags. These options are available for Blog pages in CMS.

Please consider using CMS to get more blog functions.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Anna.

Hi Anna,

If I was to use a CMS, why would I subscribe for NicePage? I would rather use the CMS like Joomla or WordPress to create the Blog and use the CMS to manage as well. I am bit disappointed with this as Blog creating option is there and all my Blogs are created in NicePage and I just cannot tag them and call them into pages or menus.

Hello Samantha,

We are constantly improving HTML blog functionality but it is initially limited compared to blog options with CMS. You can add a blog page to your HTML site in Nicepage that would output your posts, but unfortunately to filter category is available. You can assign your post to be linked to a menu item, if you have issues with that, let us know.
You can use Nicepage to create HTML sites only, or use Nicepage plugin for CMS to create themes and templates and edit content directly with CMS.

HTML is a markup language that is used to create static web pages. A blog created using HTML only would be limited in functionality because HTML does not provide the dynamic functionality required for a blog to function properly.
Here are a few reasons why an HTML blog is limited in functionality when compared to a CMS blog:
1. No database integration: An HTML blog does not integrate with a database, which means that all of the blog content must be hardcoded into the HTML files. This makes it difficult to manage large amounts of content, as each individual page must be updated manually.
2. No user management: HTML blogs do not have any user management functionality. This means that it is not possible to have multiple users contribute to the blog, and there is no way to restrict access to certain areas of the blog.
3. No content management: HTML blogs do not have any content management functionality. This means that it is not possible to easily manage blog posts, categories, tags, or other elements of the blog.
4. No SEO functionality: HTML blogs do not have built-in SEO functionality. This means that it is not possible to optimize the blog for search engines, which can limit its visibility and reach. If you add metadata in Page Settings of Blog Template, it will be exported for the blog page only. Posts do not have their own metadata. In keywords and title is the title of the post. In the same way, both posts and blog pages take common meta from Site Settings.

Sincerely,
Anna.

Thanks Anna for the reply but I do understand how the CMS works. I am not using the BLOG functionality as dynamic page where users can add comment ect. But just to display my content The Medical Massage Lady

I do know how to display all of the BLOGS on a page or individually on the menus which you can see on the above website or the image I have attached.

However I only want the category option to select for the MENU to display the BLOGS according to there category. There should be a way to at-least TAG them and call them in for the MENU to display, even on HTML pages.

Hello Samantha,

Unfortunatelly no, no categories or tags are available for the posts. We have added this request to our wishlist.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.
