Crop an image without option 'Fit'

Ask a Question

Hi, can't find a solution so I ask the experts :-)

I have an image of, let's say, 400x400 px. Without expanding it to the background I want to resize the dimensions to 400x300px, but without changing the content. Some of the image will then no longer visible but that's not a problem.

Normally (in graphic programs) the borders, who are the container of the picture, can be adjusted and function as a Croptool. In Nicepage, when moving the borders the picture immediately resizes too while maintaining proportions.
So the picture will be smaller or bigger, but that's not what I want.

How can I adjust its container so that the picture will be cropped without resizing its proportions?

Or is there just one solution, with the FIT-option (formerly the Croptool). As far as I can discover thats only possible with extended/background images.

Thanks in advance.
Andries

Hi, I think I solved it by myself... I used the 'Box' method and put the element 'image' to it. And now I can freely adjust the borders from the container one at a time to crop the image as I want to. Afterwards I can use option 'Fit' to move the picture in all directions within its container without resizing it.

Is that solution the official way also, to create a 'box' first?

Best regards,
Andries,

Hi Andries,

Nice to hear that you have found a solution, looks like it solved your problem. Also if you want to use the image only in one desired size we can recommend to crop it in some graphic editor first before importing in Nicepage.

Hi Hella

to crop the picture in e.g. Photoshop is indeed the best way. But in this case it was my problem that, in the different responsive views, the picture is sometimes square, then landscape and sometimes portait. So to adjust in within Nicepage is by far the quickest option. And it worked :-)
Thanks anyway!

Andries

Hi Andries,

Indeed, when you need different sizes in different screen views your solution is a good one.
