Report a bug

Hello,

I have a new - empty - Joomla 4 (4.2.8) website and want to install the current Nicepage plugin (5.5.0).
But instead of installing the plugin, only a red - empty - bar is displayed - see screenshot.

What can I do?

With kind regards,
Ralf

Hello Ralf,

Please make sure that you installed exactly Joomla 4 plugin, not the Joomla 3 plugin:
https://nicepage.com/download
There are two versions of Nicepage plugins.
If you exported the project from the Desktop application, please make sure that you selected the proper Joomla version in the export dialog.

We also recommend that you спусл the server PHP error logs. There is could be a more informative error message.

Check to see you downloaded the right zip file this one - joomla4_nicepage_plugin-5.5.0 not joomla_nicepage_plugin-5.5.0

I got the empty red bar as well but installed fully with the joomla4_nicepage_plugin-5.5.0

Please if you would please tell me how to get the pages we create with Nicepage to appear as homepage? I cannot be alone in this quest to set the home page the documentation is really really bad like non existent. I am sure it is something simple but I am poking around for couple of hours now and no luck but not total waste of time learning the Joomla management interface.

Hello,
actually it worked with the right Joomla plugin!
So it was my mistake.
However, I would find better, if one should choose when calling your Nicepage Joomla download page either or the automatic download loads the newer version.
Thank you very much for your help.
With kind regards,
Ralf

Hello,

Please if you would please tell me how to get the pages we create with Nicepage to appear as homepage?

You can use Nicepage pages in the same way as any other Joomla article. Therefore, to display the Nicepage page on the website's front page please create a Joomla menu item with Single Article Type and set this item as default:

joomla-default-item.png

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Yes understood and see that have experimented but you answer the question incorrectly thus making me more frustrated than I already am and not having same question answered in another thread.

let us define home page as the page that is seen as index.php or index.html

What I can only do is put the nicepage I created as a linked page not the homepage itself. Amazing how you tech people here keep missing this now on my 3rd day of trying to figure this out and still am not clear.

Here we see the site https://riponplumber.com and the page I created in nicepage set in Joomla as featured page. I want the Cassiopeia template gone and the "Page 4" displayed as the landing page/ home page

Looks like I have to export that blank page I created in nicepage as template and import into joomla. thanks for patience will figure it out.

Hello,

If you need to change the Joomla theme you can do it in s usual way under the Joomla System >> Site Template styles. To use the Nicepage theme instead of the standard Joomla theme you should install the Nicepage theme first. You can export it from the Desktop application:

export-joomla-theme.png

To set the Nicepage page as the Joomla Home page you should create a menu item if a Single Article type and select the desired page (Nicepage page or Joomla article). Nicepage page should be previously created directly in Joomla or created in the Desktop application and imported.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
