Ask a Question

Ok so my self created problem is that I used GoDaddy file manager to make various manual edits to webpages on my site over some period of time. Now I want to do some more extensive edits using Nicepage, where I built the current version of the site. The problem is if I upload the site back from nicepage, it will revert all those manual edits I did.

I am wondering if there is some simple solution to my problem that I am just not figuring out yet? Or even one not-so-simple, with directions I could follow.

Is there a way to just upload one specific page from nicepage?

Should I scan the code for differences between current version and nicepage version, and try to do all my manual edits into the nicepage version? I think the reason I did the first of these edits manually is because something wasn't working in nicepage, but i don't recall perfectly.

Is there a way to upload my current site with my updates into nicepage and then edit from there? I assume that would require premium if available.

Let me know if any solutions exists. Thank you.

Jeff,

Unfortunately, it looks that is the only way for you. Sorry about that.

also, is it possible this solution might work for me? [https://nicepage.com/questions/69444/import-existing-html-website][1]

Could i just import the pages current version through posting the URL's this way?

Nah, that would just import your old images to the repository, it would do nothing for your pages. Unfortunately you are one of those "No Coding" coders like me. After todays(I say today but actually it's been 3 days of fighting bugs) fiasco with tables I am just looking for another program to use, this one lacks all the basic properties for several things and the ones that are there are buggy at best. To this point I have had a folder that I export the html to then I copy it to another folder to make my edits so the page works properly.

Hi,

Yes, you can edit the site without reverting your edits. Please note that after exporting and uploading your site to the hosting, all site files will be replaced, and the changes you made earlier will disappear. You can make changes in Nicepage and edit pages manually after uploading them to the hosting.

Just to be clear, couldn't the step of 1. revert changes manually, be skipped?

wouldn't I just be able to edit the version I have in nicepage software, making whatever edits I need to make that I can make, export the site, then make whatever additional edits I couldn't do in nicepage

it seems like reverting the changes manually is unnecessary. Am I missing something?

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in Nicepage!

If you publish a site on external hosting, we recommend making all edits only in Nicepage, in order to avoid possible issues. In your case, you can only revert the changes you did manually, edit your site in Nicepage, export the site, and make these changes again.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to import HTML sites to Nicepage.

Let us know if you need our further help!
