Ask a Question

Hi Yah Support,

I have a responsive movie called up on a page, the movie is stored on the hosting server so it's not youtube or vimeo, what I'm finding is some browsers do not allow autoplay so I'd also like a placeholder image used from those as the movie doesn't show just the section background colour. So basically I'm needing to know if this is possible? A responsive movie with a placeholder image for those browsers who only show the section background and not the movie.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

There is a Poster option which adds video thumbnail. Please try this option. it should work with usual mp4 or other video files too.

Hi Yah, yes found it thank you.

What I'm finding is I have the movie fill the full width of the screen but as soon as I add the poster option it doesn't want to fill the full width, no matter what choice I select.

I also noticed that with the responsive movie the section background colour is black and fills as expected in the majority of browsers except Microsoft Edge - check selfdefencecourses.co.nz

Chae,

I see that you're trying to use this image as a video background. Video background does not support Poster option, unfortunately.

I also noticed that with the responsive movie the section background color is black and fills as expected in the majority of browsers except Microsoft Edge - check selfdefencecourses.co.nz

This black color is a part of the video, not a Section fill color. I suggest that you try a little different layout if you need Section fill color: add Section with a fill color, then add Container inside Section, stretch it to cover the whole section and then add video background to this container. This may help.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
