How to use the first level menu link when using a mobile submenu.
I will explain if under the link of the homepage, I add a sub menu, I can not click on the link HOME because it opens the sub menu but does not allow to use the one that brings home of the site !

Hi Stephane,

It is the correct behavior. In Responsive views, submenu items are opened on click, as MouseOver is not available in touch devices.

Elena,
Can we get an "ALL EXPANDED" option for the menus in mobile (Artisteer had this).
And with that option enabled, can we get the ability to access pages linked through the parent menus?

Thanks.

This is a real problem. On mobile view or tablet, when you click on a link that has sublinks it works only as a switch to open the sublink or sublinks but it wont open the actual page you are clicking on. On desktop view it works fine you click on the link, the page opens and it also shows the available sublinks.
I think the All expanded option might solve this problem.

Hi,

Unfotunately that is the default behavior for now. But we'll consider some options like expanded fo the subitems.

Hello,
this is a really strange behaviour - how should you navigate to the levels in between, if you have more than two submenus?
It is not even possible to add a second menu for the subentries, or am i missing something?
You could do this like in the attached picture, have a small arrow for the submenus if you click on that the submenu is opened otherwise the actual page opens.
Or is it possible to add a navigation menu somewhere else, or a breadcrumb?

Regards
Fiona

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions, we'll consider them for the future. For now we can only suggest to use different menus in the desktop and responsive views with the different structures.

Hi,

Just add two Menu controls with the different position names. Hide one of them on all the responsive views and the second on should be hidden on the desktop view. Then create different menus in your CMS and position them to the corresponding menu positions.

Hi,

Another issue related to this is accessing submenu using Ipad/tablet.
I am using normal menu (not Hamburger button one) for tablet, but I am not able to access sub-menu.
While on the laptop/desktop browser the submenu will be shown on moving your mouse to the menu item, the touch device like tablet will not let you see the submenu. Is there any (temporary or permanent) solution for this?

Kind regards,
Tomos

Hi,

Thanks for your response! So no plan to make it possible? Nowadays you have tablet that has a screen as big as the screen of laptop, the menu will not work there as the css will check based on the screen width and not the touch/non-touch devices?

Kind regards,
Tomos

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no simple solution to this. The touch devices do not have hover action used to display subitems. In some cases, the double-tap works like hover. Therefore we recommend the use of the responsive menu for touch devices.

Hi,
Is there any obstacle to getting a hamburger submenu like what’s on the nicepage’s own website? It is very much needed because people are mostly browsing on mobile today. Please allow us what you use on your own website too! Is there any obstacle to this if you are already using this hamburger submenu solution on nicepage.com?
Thanks in advance,
Peter

A few years have passed since the original post on this thread, and still nothing new? I just discovered that I had this kind of issue on a client's site. My menu is like this:

Home
Services
-IT-services
--IT-packages

On mobile, pressing on "Services" opens the sub menu, but the page itself is not accessible. Same thing with "IT-services" that also became a header instead of an active menu item. "IT-packages" is working just fine.

Is the solution still to use two menus?

I can only say this is a real problem for all user I guess. I suggest that this is not only one point for the wish list but on the important tasks to solve list! Otherwise on every mobile device I need to make a script to make it always visible and this is really annoying.
