Concerning a vertical menu, unfortunately, Nicepage doesn't have the built-in vertical menu element. However, you can try to search for a third-party CMS plugin that implements such a feature.

Nicepage have lack of many options to be as simple as possible with clean UI. So there is no Vertical menu option.
But there is more advanced tool from Nicepage developers: Themler - there you can add Vertical menu and customize it, as well as Breadcrumbs. But Themler is more for template development, not for content. You can try to use Themler + 3rd Party Page Builder (Nicepage or SP Page Builder).
Themler is quite old, but more advanced and stable tool. We ask developers for new version, you can also vote for Themler 2.0 with Bootstrap 5 and support only two CMS: Joomla 4 and WordPress 5.

Есть ещё момент, я так понял что если я делаю тему на nicepage desktop, и я подразумеваю в дальнейшем подключить какой то стронний плагин, который сможет реализовать боковое меню, то мне в теме nicepage нужно добавить sidebar & position?

Yes, third-party plugins and components can be implemented via Position and Widget Area and Shortcode Elements. Sidebar is the type of Position and Widget Area that can be added only to Templates (Blog Template, Post Template, etc.).
