Ask a Question

Dear Nicepage Team,
I started to create a website via Wordpress with Nicepage about 2 months ago. I did the whole thing on an already existing domain and server. How can I export all the data from Nicepage or Wordpress so that I can easily transfer the data or the theme to another domain? When I export the Wordpress site, I get an XML file and I can't paste it into the desktop version of Nicepage. With another website, I received a ZIP file a year ago and was also able to import it into Nicepage.

Please help

Hello Paul,

Thanks for contacting us

Unfortunately, you can't export the data/content from WordPress into Nicepage Desktop App or another WordPress website. That's why we always recommend to our users, first to design the website in the Nicepage Desktop App, so they can export the content and theme any time.

With another website, I received a ZIP file a year ago and was also able to import it into Nicepage.

Can you please attach the file here to this ticket? Perhaps it was an exported file from Desktop App.

Looking forward to your kind reply

Thank you

Hey Ahmad M.

Everyone needs the ability to update their site when they add products or change web hosting providers to expect someone to use the desktop app and reload an entire website every time they add a new photo is ridiculous. Get it together over there and fix this MAJOR flaw in the application.

thanks, Brenda

Hi,

To transfer the content from the existing WP site to a new one you can try to use some WP migration tools that could export the whole site and database to another domain where you can use Nicepage for further edits.

Is Solution

You should include a video or instructions on how to use a WP migration tool to do this if this is your proposed solution. This is a feature that should automatically be included in your software. I cant believe I cant take an existing nicepage WP site and import it into your Nicepage siteboard or desktop. I used your nicepage app in Wordpress, built my entire site and then wanted to export it to the desktop app to make further edits offline only to find out it isn't possible. This should be at the TOP of your development list, its key functionality!!! At the very least, you should add some warnings or content in wordpress stating this limitation and direct users to use the Siteboard.

Brenda, you may not fully understand. You can add images and products and anything else you want to do with your site online. You only need to update in the desktop app if you want to modify existing theme templates or add new ones to your existing NP Theme. If you want to change hosting providers, most will do the migration from you. If you installed Word Press with the Softaculous installed in cPanel, you can use WordPress Manager on the new hosting to clone a remote WP installation (provided you have the Admin credentials.) If your existing site is heavy in gross file sizes, you'd need to purchase the premium WP migration plugin. It's cheaper to set up a new hosting account using a new, inexpensive domain name as the primary domain for your new hosting. Go into your cPanel and go to the WordPress Manager and Clone your remote installation onto the new domain. Change the DNS NameServer info at the registrar of your current domain to those the server hosting your new account. Once that is done and the new DNS info gets propagated on the web, you can add your existing domain to your new hosting account in your cPanel; then open the WordPress Manager, and Clone the installation on your new domain onto your old domain. Now you have migrated your site without doing anything in your desktop app.

Hi everyone,

I would like to add that now is possible to Export/Import the content from Nicepage pages on WordPress website by blocks. You can export it and import it to the Nicepage Desktop app or Online Builder.
