Can I blog in Nicepage without using Wordpress?

I'd like to have a blog in my site, but I really don't want to use WordPress - it is such a pain and high maintenance. I want to keep the site in HTML.

Is it possible to create blogs only in Nicepage? I understand I'd have to export and re-upload my site everytime I add a blog post, but it's worth it.

I have seen references to a blog element, but it is always in conjunction with Wordpress.

So, when I add a blog entry to my Nicepage static website, does the blog thumbnail w/ excerpt AUTOMATICALLY show up on the designated blog grid page? This is all accomplished WITHOUT a database system? (I was under the assumption that all blogs needed databases).

The excerpt cannot be controlled or edited in Nicepage. A small piece of the blog text will appear under the post:
