Ask a Question

My nicepage theme and plugin once imported into WordPress does not allow for update within WordPress like other themes and plugins do for WordPress. What do I do in this case to keep my nicepage and theme current in WordPress.... once again... this is after creating in nicepage and exporting to Wordpress.... then inporting into wordpress.

This problem happens after a while in wordpress for my site when I administer it in wordpress. How do I update NICEPAGE within wordpress admin without getting an "Unable to Update" message?

Hello,

You have already updated Plugin Nicepage according to your account info version 3.29.1
To update your Theme, you would need to save it with the latest desktop application version and export it to WordPress.
Complete instructions on how to update your Theme only(without changing the content) are listed here - https://nicepage.com/doc/67768/export-and-update-of-wp-theme-from-app

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the help. I have noticed something very important which brings questions.

This is what I want to do with Nicepage: I want to create custom WordPress themes when I design sites for my customers. I don't want to use free/paid WordPress themes.

I noticed that I have to create all the pages for the site, prior to export to WordPress... at least blank pages (that have my theme's header and footer. After I export my site to be WordPress and I go into wp administration.... I can not create NEW pages in WordPress where I can "Edit in Nicepage" (even tho I have nicepage plugin). WordPress does not connect new Nicepage pages done while in WordPress administration to WordPress menu system under: "Appearance/Menus". I seems that I have to create any new pages back in Nicepage (Windows) and re-export the entire thing to WordPress every time I create a new page in the future after original design.

This is a problem when I get a customer that wants to administer their own WordPress site.... they would also have to have the desktop version of Nicepage to do the addition of any pages and know how to export back to WordPress to show and work with new pages in their WordPress administration.

I see that Nicepage is not like Elementor Page Builder or Bold Grid where they totally integrate with WordPress.

Hope this makes sense. After saying all of this..... could it be possibly be a permalink issue within WordPress and new Nicepage pages after export where WordPress doesn't register the new pages with the WordPress menu functioning?

Any help would be great. Thank you.

Hello,

When you upload Nicepage Theme+Pages from the desktop application into WordPress, the Menu(if you have set all the Menu items with the desktop project) is imported too.
When you create the page with WordPress using Nicepage Plugin, this page should be added to the existing Menu as the new Menu Item, same as you do to any other WordPress page - Appearence-Menus. This is not an issue but a standard behavior regarding site-building with CMS like WordPress.

You can create the new page with Nicepage Plugin, does this option works from your side?
The new page will be created with the Theme settings inside your Plugin:

new-page-plugin.png

A new page with status published will be added automatically to the list of all pages so you can create the new menu item for it and add it to your Menu, visible on your live site.

Let us know how the Plugin option works for you please.
