Using category blog in Joomla with Nicepage

Hi Cynthia,

The Category Blog uses the Blog Template, you need to edit the Blog Template in Nicepage desktop to have your slider and then the Blog control with the desired design for the blog posts. Note, the Blog Template is used for some other pages like featured articles page, archived articles and it will show the same design with the slider.

Thanks for the reply. I did just that but when I crate a new page by using the Nicepage plugin it doesn't show up in the flow on the start page with the category blog chosen. You can have a look if you want but I will have to post a private discussion with the login information.

Do you mean that the article created with Nicepage is not showing in the Blog Posts Element? That is correct, the Blog Posts Element shows only articles created using the default Joomla editor.

So how do I go about using Nicepage and category blog at the same time? Why doesn't Featured Articles work?

Hi Cynthia,

Use the Blog Template for that. Now you have created the static page, but simply add the Category Blog menu item in the menu and it will show the posts from the chosen category using the Blog Template format.

regarding this topic I have the same issue. No matter what I do the blog post stays empty in Joomla 3.10.3!
I created a template with a simple blog template including one block and the slider at the bottom.
I am NOT using the Joomla Extension of Nicepage but native Joomla functionality.

If I switch the background color of the blog template I can see this, but no content.
If I switch to "protostar" default Joomla template I see all articles of that blog category!

What am I doing wrong or how is that working with the Nicepage template then?

I created a "Labs" category and put some articles. I created a blog posts in Nicepage, choose Category and any time i try to save, system show me the message "Posts not found", why?

Unfortunately, Categories are not yet supported as the feature gains popularity and we have informed the dev.

I honestly cannot believe that this is still an issue, almost 3 years later! And Nicepage can't do related post on the template?! frustrating to say the least
