Hi, When I create a long article using Nicepage, how can I insert a read more break to stop the blog template running on?

Thanks

John,

Nicepage Blog template does not control the size of the intro text.
The Blog page displays the content of the first section from the Nicepage page. The intro text on the other pages depends on the joomla article settings.

Hi Olivia, I have having issues trying to format articles using Blog and Post.

I figured the only way to get a read more break was to create the article in Joomla and add it to the category I want.

Now when I view the article I get the bottom cut of and the format of the footer changed?

Please help as I am getting killed by the amount of time I am wasting on trying to get the articles formatted the way they should be.
I tried creating the article in Nicepage but the results looked bad and read more break did not exist (reason for this string!!)

I am obviously lost with the ins and outs of using blog and post

Sorry, I forgot link:
https://thefleecebarandkitchen.co.uk/index.php/latest-news/59-lonely-planet-travel-guide

As you can see it cuts disk in half and footer is incorrect

The blog page is at:

Hi sorry for being a pain but I really need to get this site handed over to client.

The article I mentioned previously looks even worse on mobile

I fixed the footer issue by recreating the article using only Nicepage, But it brings me back to my original question of how do I introduce a read more or a page break?

As you can see on the blog summary page the first article shows the logo and I dont want that just the text as the logo screws up the format of the summary page!!

Okay, I figured it out!!
The Blog Summary only shows the contents of Section 1 right?
So I put the image an a new section and it no longer shows on the summary page (duh!!)

Hi John,

I'm sorry for the delay. You are correct, you need to position in the first section the content that you want to see on the Blog page. then in Nicepage desktop application you can open the Blog template and use Add button >> Blog template >> Post Button. That will add the Read More button in the template and it will be shown in your posts on the blog page right after the first section content. Please let me know if you need additional information.

I, too, am having a problem with the read more button. It is redirecting to the home page.

The read more link appears in the Blog template.
It appears on the blog page of the website.
However, when I click the read more link on the website it doesn't go to the rest of the article in the second section.

Please can you advise how to get the link to redirect to the rest of the article.

Attached are two screen shots for reference.

Thank you.

Hi Beinda,

Please create a private case with access to the site backend and also attach your project.

Ive made something similar using accordions

  1. Just put all the "read more" text into the content of the first accordions and set to the title "read more" a visible value as default then a not visible value when activated (same color that the background)
  2. Create another accordion with "Close" bottum and set this one as "Open by default"

Thats all, you get a Read More functionality without problem
