My site isn't handling phone views well at all...

Ask a Question

The sales page claims that the paid versions have "phone and mobile support" vs. "limited" on the free app, what's the difference? I want to know if the premium version will fix my problems.

I started with the fill screen slider example. On the phone, the page shows way too tall (on a real phone) though not in the test rig phone.

And the sideways one clips text so that it can never show the bottom, and squishes elements into overlapping though once again it doesn't do that on the test view.

And if I hit the "monitor height" symbol that switches the height from pixels to 100 vh (viewport height) then on the mobile portrait view screen, which was already way too tall gets even taller!

I look at the generated HTML and I don't see any place where I could set the height of the whole page to the viewport...

I don't want to pay for the app if I'm not going to be able to make this page workable.

In response to this, I was sent an email telling me to use "blank with grid"

There is no blank with grid block in the current builder, but I used repeating grid, and then, since it requires every element in a grid to be the same kind of element, I put a section container in. There's not invisible container but you can put in a filled container then set the color to nothing.

The result isn't great. I can put SOME of my elements into the center of a grid but some seem to be refused.

Also I can't set the height of the main block to vh units anymore, it seems to be inheriting pixel units from the grid. I can set the width of the grid to 100% but I can't set the height to a viewport percent - it's stuck in pixels. And it's WAY too tall for mobile. And when I mess with that the text stops drawing.

If it WAS working, then the next question would have been how to make some grid elements taller than others, but I'm never going to get that far!

Jesus. I just need a slider and a menu, and I'll bloody well set up flexboxes myself. This isn't working!

You say "Check this article for a better understanding of how to build a responsive website" but I don't see a link to an article.
