Ask a Question

How do we edit the Date and Category MetaData for a Blog Post from within NicePage to post on our site (non WP or Joomla)? We're manually importing blog posts from my old website and would like to put the published dates from when the events actually occurred. TIA.

Hello,

There is no such function to put the published date for blog posts within Nicepage editor.

Please feel free to ask any further questions.

Will this very useful feature be implemented in a future release?

Also, how do we change the Category a particular post is in from within the Nicepage Editor?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thanks for your question, we have added your request to our wishlist.
You cannot make changes to the previously selected post category as the post category elements are already designed for your convenience and are ready to use.
Please feel free to ask any further questions.

Thank you for your prompt response.

So perhaps I am confused, but I cannot see where to select or change the Category of a Blog Post, or even where to define the Categories. For example, I have multiple Blog Posts which I'd like to Categorize as "news" and other posts which I'd like to categorize as "equipment" so that when a visitor is browsing the Blog Posts page, they can sort or see the categories in the MetaData. How do I go about doing that from within the NicePage editor?

TIA

Hello,

As it was mentioned before there is no such option as Category in Nicepage editor.
There are other predesigned ways to build your site.
You should try to use Wordpress or Joomla if you need exactly this option as Blockpost Category.

Please feel free to ask any further questions.

Is it possible then, to build and create Blog posts (with the metadata and date information) from within Wordpress and then import the blog into Nicepage to post with my website, which is created within Nicepage and published to the server from Nicepage? If so, how do I go about importing the Blog from Wordpress?

Thank you.

Hello,

You can import into Nicepage only projects created within Nicepage only.
You can export Nicepage theme and import it into Wordpress for further editing and publishing.

All our users have free 7 days of trial to use premium features and investigate all Nicepage possibilities. This period begins on the day you've created an account on our system.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Maybe you ment?

Filtering Blog Posts
By Category
For example, you can filter posts by the Category to show News on your home page.

Thank you for your response.

I'm actually looking for a way to assign a particular blog post (created within NicePage) to a Category so that a user on the website can filter what blog posts are displayed to them. But apparently there isn't a way to do that now. Could we submit this as a feature request for the future? Along with the ability to enter a manually set publish date as we discussed earlier? Thank you.

Hi,

We added your request to our wish list.
But I suggest that you consider the use of CMS. For example, WordPress. It should help you to achieve the desired result.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

The ability to (a) create new posts including category and date metadata from within Nicepage and (b) subsequently edit the category and date within Nicepage are features I would really like to see.
We are migrating our WordPress website to a Nicepage website and really don't want to use WordPress, as it doesn't give us the level of customisation we need and we constantly have security fears over WordPress as hackers clearly target WordPress vulnerabilities.
Currently (if I understand this thread) there is no way to import posts from a Wordpress site to an HTML only site and retain the category or original date of posting. And we can't re-create them because we can't add a date and category. That's really frustrating!
The sooner this feature is added the better...

The ability to include metadata is literally in Nicepage, with predefined names like, user, comment, etc. There should be a way to change these defined names and place a particular name...

You should aim towards making user design all they require on your webapp or local app without having to fiddle with CMS platforms like Wordpress or the like, except the user just chooses.

Right now, it's incomplete and exhausting to use category naming feature.

I am running into the same issue. I am creating a "new/PR section and there should be a way to edit the metadata in HTML. When I look at the code on my Mac in Safari I see the following:
<span class>Nov 25, 2023</span>

I would like to be able to go into the code to change that listed date but I cannot find a way to get to the HTML to change that. Is there a way to do so? It is such an important thing to be able to change.
