Can't create links

Ask a Question

I am creating pages but cannot create links if using header text. The link is actually created but the color is not that of the theme, it stays black. If I manually try to change the color the entire block of text changes color.
If I just use the text selection, not a header text, it works fine.
Please advise.
Thank you
Bill

Hi William,

The color of the link created inside another control like Text depends on the color specified for this type of text. In this case, the hyperlink color is not used.

Just now reading this as I'm having the same issue. I've never used a word processing or website creation program where the 'hyperlink color is not used' - that just is not conventional. Is there a fix for this coming at some point?

I have 2 sites I'm trying to update for a client right now and this issue with the hyperlinks not showing as hyperlinks is a deal-breaker for my client. I think I saw a temporary fix in another post - I'll see if I can go find it again and I hope it works.

Hi Cheryl,

You mean that you need to set the general color for the links in your theme? That can be done under the Theme drop-down >> Headings and Text. There you can set the color for the hyperlinks in your theme.
If the issue is specific to some other element, please provide more details.

I set the hyperlink color as #0000FF in the Theme under Headings and Text. When I create a page in Word Press and created a hyperlink on that page, the hyperlink shows as the same color as the surrounding regular text and NOT the color that I set for hyperlinks.

Hi Cheryl,

When you create a page in WordPress it picks up settings from Post Content. If you have changed the default Theme's text color, then the color of hyperlink would take the color of Text. This is behavior by default. However, if you didn't change the default Text's color, it might also take the color of the text, but it is a known issue and our developers will fix it.

Hi Elena,

I did not change the color of the default Text. But whether I did or not, the color of hyperlinks should be whatever that color is set to in the Theme. That's a standard in WordPress themes - even with Artisteer.

I'm glad to hear developers will fix it. For now, I have to change the color of hyperlinks manually and that's a pain with sites with a lot of links.

Thanks for the reply!

Cheryl

Please let us know when this has been fixed. Currently, I set the color for hyperlink and the rendered color is opposite. If I set black for hyperlink, it shows as white, which is invisible on a white background.
