I would like to request that the Wordpress plugin have at least the capability to export the WordPress site as a project that can be opened with the desktop app.

Wow this is really amazing suggestion.

When you work with Wordpress many changes will come to the website.
Even if your desktop final website design is ready to be exported to Wordpress, changes will come...

This makes problems because you dont have control of the acutal project... and you can not use the wordpress edited website. What happens is that you must do it all over again, and it will never be exactly the same and its really waste of time really...

+1 For this function soon!

A workaround sort of that I have found is to use the plugin All in One WP Migration. With it you can export your site and move it someplace else with all of your changes and updates.
