Ask a Question

Hello sir,

I am trying out your website tool, to see how it is working. But I see a difference in the layout when I look in the browser. Alignment is not equal to the editor. See a quick example I have created.

Can you explain what is happing and what I am missing?

Kind regards,
Johan.

Hi,

It happens because the browser viewport is larger than the editor area. Therefore the elements use the same positioning, but the margin valued differs from the editor to fit the larger screen. I recommend that you try the Grid control for this layout. It should help.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Hello Olivia,

Thank you for your answer. The template I have used seems to be a 3 colum. But I couldn't find the option where I can find the size of the colums. In the current design, we will not use the left/right colum, so we could reduce the size.

Or will this cause that the design on mobile versions are not showing correct anymore.

Kind regards,
Johan

On the mobile I am happy, on a big computerscreen, I think there is to much left en and right size. See the demo site at http://www.heegsma.nl/home-4/

Hi,

On the screenshots that you have attached in the first message you can see the dotted vertical lines. They show the sheet width area. You can try to position your elements outside those lines to the edges of the screen and that will look better on the late screens.

Hello Hella,

Thanks for your answer, what I don't understand from your app is the following.

  • The sheet width area, can I adjust this and if I want to do this can i do this easily for example for the desktop version. If needed I can try to do this in the wordpress theme code you create.

  • If you go to the site www.heegsma.nl/home-4 you see on the homepage 3 boxes (1,2,3) I would like to publish here always the latest 3 messages of the category news.

On the news page (nieuws) there must be last 8 news messages according to the structure used, but messages are not displayed there. On a newly created page archive all the news messages must be shown.

But I can't see how to do this in your tool, it are now all static pages.

And also the Grid Element which your colleague is referring to for outline the image and menu correctly is not clear. On the screen I have it as I want, but in the Editor I have to make the alignment out of sync, so the page in the editor is not as it is shown on the screen.

Kind regards,
Johan

Hi,

The sheet width area, can I adjust this and if I want to do this can i do this easily for example for the desktop version. If needed I can try to do this in the wordpress theme code you create.

No, there si no possibility to edit the width of the sheet.

If you go to the site www.heegsma.nl/home-4 you see on the homepage 3 boxes (1,2,3) I would like to publish here always the latest 3 messages of the category news.

That is a static page and you can blog posts on it using the Blog control. Add this control in the desired position, choose it to have 3 posts and in the settings in the right panel specify the correct category name.

On the news page (nieuws) there must be last 8 news messages according to the structure

Looks like your news page is also the static page and it is not using the Blog control. To have the whole page work as a blog, specify the News page to be your posts page in the WP settings and then this page will be showing the latest posts and will be using the layout that you have designed in the Blog template inside the desktop application in your theme.

And also the Grid Element which your colleague is referring to for outline the image and menu correctly is not clear.

Please provide more details, maybe some screenshots showing the issue will be helpful.
